Hey why is it that this guy received all of this help and credit? Would any of this be done in this day and age. I know some felons that could use a pardon and a job at BCHC

He sounds like a wonderful man, and I'm glad he got a second chance.

"Confused", above, makes an interesting point, though: this happy family ending stands in sad contrast to the recent stories about local high school basketball star Jahda Martin. Times change.

Is it true he saved a corrections officer from being killed?

How did Scago keep his job at the Jail, in light of the "tough Massachsetts Gun Law", that prohibits convicted felons of EVER carrying a firearm???

I guess if you are a well connected Democrat, you have another set of rules/laws to live by......

it doesn't matter he had a pardon. His whole slate was wiped clean. I'm pretty sure he saved a gaurds life. This was real old school. Good guy. The type of guy who anyone working at that jail should aspire to be.

According to The Berkshire Eagle obituary, Frank Scago, Jr., who passed away after a three-year battle with leukemia, was "predeceased by a sister, Ellen Caffrey, and a brother, Ralph Gardner."

Mr. Scago was born and raised in Pittsfield.
The obit doesn't say what claimed the lives of the brother and sister nor whether they too were born and raised in Pittsfield, but all died relatively young and it sure seems as though this is more dramatic evidence, at least via one local family, that growing up in Pittsfield is not good for one's health.
It begs the question whether Mr. Scago's leukemia was related to PCB's or other chemicals so prevalent in Pittsfield's environment.

The world-class research scientist 'SharonMomofBobby' aka 'Silvo' apparently does not recognize that there just might be Cancer clusters all over Pittsfield as a result of chemical contamination of the local environment by PCB's and other noxious chemicals over the decades.
When three siblings in the same Pittsfield-born-and-raised family die young and at least one of those has succumbed officially to Leukemia, it's time to sit up and take notice.
It would be helpful to graph the locales where exactly the family lived including water sources, proximity to known undergound chemical outflows, proximity to known upwind sources of airborne chemical pollution, etc..
Who is to say that Pittsfield isn't another Love Canal given the presence of decades of contamination from Pittsfield Coal Gas Company starting in 1853, Stanley Electric Manufacturing Company starting in 1890, and of course General Electric Company?

For example, how many former Pittsfield Coal Gas Company chemical dumps around Pittsfield are now 100-year-old or 75-year-old housing developments?
