I will really miss them. They were a large part of why we turned on our TV set in the evening. I just won't bother watching anymore. Perhaps I will start watching channel 7. I'm angry! They were the best. KHSL will lose a lot of viewers. Their advertisers will be hurting without the viewership.

I remember Rick...he worked at KHSL at the same time I did. The station was downtown then and still owned by Golden Empire Broadcasting...Rick is a professor in Oregon now
Yes, Rick Rigsby....Great Guy. I've been here for 33 years in Chico. When I was in my late teens he used to come through the drive-thru where I worked.....and was always fun, respectful. and receptive to our "company encouraged" would you like a drink or desert with that bazillion calorie combo meal. Such a nice guy.

Should have kept Jerry and Kelli and got rid of Rob Blair and frakenstein in the evenings.

I've meet Kelli before and I agree with those of you who said she is rude. She was very stuck up when I met her and she did not treat me like a human being but like she was better than me. She may be a good newscaster, but on a personal level, I am not a fan.

I used to look forward to the 5 o clock news every day... Not anymore. What a horrible decision. Now the network is certain to tank even more.

I wonder if an online petition to bring them back would help.

Have you seen who they have at night now? That TV station is a bigger joke then before. Good thing for cable.

The replacements are truely very bad! Watching them go through the news is very painful. Then when the weather comes on you need to listen very closely as it sounds like he has marbles or cotton in his mouth. Very sad state of affairs for us local news watchers as we are now forced to watch channel 7 as next best.

Allen Marsdan (sp?) talks like he has to many teeth in his mouth and I swear the man can't get thru an entire news story without flubbing the lines! It's painful!

What? Are you watching the same tv as the rest of us. Allen is why I watched the nightly news... certainly wasn't Kellie. He seems more relaxed and happy now, FOR SURE. I'm enjoying seeing the backbone of KHSL come up and fill in until the REAL News caster gets here.

KHSL is the worst news channel in the world. I find CSPAN to be more interesting then the news in Chico. The news reporters are so pathetic it makes me want to vomit.

I hate, HATE channel 7 news but now I will be forced to watch it, on the otherhand I'll just read news online. Ms.

Saam came off with confidence and I felt she was someone to be trusted. Please do not hire the frozen "barbie" doll anchors like CNN has.

These two conglomerated news stations demonstrate why competition is good. Since Catamount purchased the competing station we have seen a reduction in the number of local stories and reporting.

If you were a regular viewer of the local news you may have noticed that they have started using "outsourced" reporters for lifestyle stories. Remember Charity Bailey and other lifestyle reporters? How about Cindy Nixon and other local background reporters? They are all gone and replaced with way-out-of-town outsourced lifestyle reporters on finance, real estate, and health stories. What can someone from what appears to be Florida know about Chico real estate? How can someone from another state comment on local lifestyle stories about Chico? What happened to our LOCAL news?

Besides, any local news they had was just a regurgitated newspaper news story. The TV news is supposed to be fast enough to be "live, local, late breaking". Yet KHSL/KNVN always reported what the local paper had ALREADY reported that morning and very rarely got the "scoop".

Not that the ER does a fantastic job of local reporting either. But between the local TV news and the ER the ER wins hands down.

God has nothing to do with it. Viewers have a say in what they like and don't like. Now you may like the people in the newsroom better, but viewers pay the bills. Without those eyes, selling ads gets tougher and rates gets cheaper -- or they should.
