“Government IS the problem.”

We hear all the time how the Dems want the wealthy to pay their "fair" share in income taxes. What is the fair share that the wealthy should pay? The top 20% of income earners in this country already pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes than do the bottom 80%. The top 20% earned 68% of the income in and paid 87% of the taxes(in 2010 according to the CBO). The number of people in the top 1% has been decreasing since 2007, the Dems are going to be getting less from the wealthy than they may think.

Tax increases on the wealthy to raise tax revenue have to be by their very nature a Liberal thing because it is a totally illogical idea.

If you raise taxes on the wealthy they will merely find other legal means to shield their income from the higher tax rates therefore tax revenue will decrease. Or the wealthy will leave and go to places with lower taxes. We see this happening in Britain and France where those governments have recently introduced punitive taxes on the wealthy.

The only logical way to raise tax revenue from the wealthy is to decrease their deductions. The only way to raise tax revenue is to cut corporate tax and capital gains tax rates. Make investing profitable and people will invest which will create new jobs, etc., thereby increasing tax revenue. Alas, with the Libs it is not really about tax revenue. They want to punish those in this country who are producers.

I see you don't understand the moronic thinking of a liberal

All they care is that nobody has more than they do

Even if you work a 100 hours per week at the same job they work 20 hours per week

You should pay far more than them

They hate people that want to get ahead in life

It is evil according to them

I know, I know. It is hard to understand the illogical. The Libs only like those who want get ahead in life if they are Libs. They don't care that Warren Buffet champions tax increases for the wealthy while hypocritically doing every thing he can to avoid paying a higher tax rate. As long as he spouts the party line the Libs are happy.

liberalism is nothing more than envy!
Envy:
1. A bitter state or hatred induced by another having something more than oneself. Most acute between people where the difference is slight, eg, a neighbor with a minutely more expensive car.

2. when someone is so possessed by evil and jealousy they go to incredible lengths to see the envied person experience even an ounce of pain compared to what is their life. They are miserable inside so they try to make everyone else miserable too. They wish they were like you yet try to convince people how bad you are. They want people to dislike you because they are so jealous.

3. To be jealous, or to want something somone else has.

Your reproduction of conservative dogma completely ignores history sam.

In the 50's 60's and 70's tax rates on the rich were way higher and the American economy did wonderfully over those decades.

Bill Clinton passed large tax increases and the conservatives hit the Sunday talk shows en mass shrieking like chicken little that those tax increases would lead to a recession and high unemployment etc. etc. and what happened, no recession, extremely low unemployment, a booming economy and a budget surpluss.

The conservatives said the same thing about tax increases then and they were flat out wrong. History does not back up the conservative dogma on taxes at all.

What makes you think they are right this time?

I see sam doesn't think the guy pulling green -chain at the mill or the construction worker pooring/finishing concrete or the teacher or the rough -neck on an oil rig are "producers". The wife and I paid over 30% of our gross as taxes and we are middle class yet mitt the mutt paid what, 13 -14% and he didn't produce a damn thing!

I'm all for a flat tax with the same deductions (with caps) for everyone.

A flat tax or consumption tax is the best system..........Look at what Ron Paul has written about this

But remember a flat tax for a business is only on profit but a consumption or VAT tax all spending.

If you try and say there is a flat tax on all gross sales you will kill most business....
So the corporations will still be flying in their tax free jets.......And eating caviar for lunch....

A flat tax is regressive. Under such a tax the minimum wage employee pays a much much higher percentage of their income to taxes than the wealthy do

If you think that is fair you are a dum bass.

You ate the bait again moron..........ROTFLMAO

How did it taste today???

Did you see where I said look at what Ron Paul has said??

Yes a moron like you will open their mouth and prove how stupid you are......

Under most flat taxes a single person making 25K pays ZERO taxes..........

Today a single person making 25K is paying up to 30% tax..........

Now would you care to show again how stupid you are and claim you posted links that show teachers wages compared to others factoring in the hours worked.

My bad, I was referring to a consumption tax or national sales tax. That is regressive, that is what I was referring to.

If a flat tax exempted low income people and had Zero loopholes for rich people, did not treat un-earned income any differently than earned income, made it difficult to use tax shelters' etc. I may be inclined to support it. But it would have to make sure the wealthy could not weasel out of it and that the poor were not burdened by it.

Unearned income will always be treated different or most retired people would not be able to afford food......

And a consumption tax is far more far if you had ever read about any ideas on it than any other tax system....

Again the poor pay ZERO in taxes.......

So when are you going to back up your claim about teachers wages???

Or will it become just like your lie about Vern and you will here about it everyday???

Like now..........LOL

.
..

Please tell us MICKEY where Vern supported the ban or disagreed with your statement that the ban was a bad idea..........
Waiting..........LOL

But there are more risks with these activities you mentioned. How much harm should come from tubing down a river with friends? Add several thousand and alcohol then you have a major problem. The big picture is a young life was wasted. He could have amounted to something or someone. Judging from the out-pouring of searched I'd say he was well liked. My heart goes out to his family.

A retired couple living on a 100k per year and then you morons raise the taxes and the drop to 50K per year.........

That will not even pay for their retirement home........

I don't ignore history. I would suggest that you need to learn some history. You guys are always spouting off on how tax rates were so high in the 60s and the economy boomed. Why then did President Kennedy lower tax rates to give the economy a boost? I heard Donald Trump a few years ago say that he would welcome the higher tax rates as long as he had all the same deductions that they had in the 60s and 70s.

The actual facts are that the effective tax rate for the top 1% in the late 60s was 31%. Please put to rest your tired old notion that higher taxes equate with a booming economy. Dig a little deeper when you doing your research, or find some new sources that go a little further into the data. You will be better educated if you do.
http://www.baldingsworld.com/2012/11/30/the-o...

In fact since 1966 no matter what the tax rates were on the top 1% the effective tax rate stayed mostly around 30% give or take a few points.

The same thing applies during the Clinton era. The effective tax rate was below 30% throughout this period, and even declined toward the end of Clinton's presidency. You are also missing one key point. Clinton lowered the Capital Gains tax which helped boost the economy. Even Obama knows that a lower capital gains tax boosts investments which power the economy and you therefore have an increase in tax revenue.
