Amazing and is needed IF it really works.

Is this procedure covered by medical insurance?

Is it covered by medical insurance? Well the answer to that would depend on your policy. You would also want to look at the FDA's view on the procedure. If the FDA advises this is experimental or investigational then very few if any policy's would cover. Good luck!

Try whitening listerine mouthwash. I have been using it for about 3 months and my fungus is almost gone. It is probably a lot cheaper.

helpful can you please include more information about method in getting that kind of result? My mother has 6 of her toenails which are infected and I have just been looking online about laser surgery here in Australia but not available. She can't use medications due to the side effects and the next resort is to remove toenails via regular surgery but the fear is it will return after the ordeal. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!:D |

Ok the nurse bought the machine for 15K. She still needs to pay the company to use the machine. She is an INVESTOR in the company and has an exclusive to the area. Other Doctors in Chico can't even get the machine. The laser DOES work!!!!!! It's too bad they are scamming the local Doctors and giving all the $$$ to a Nurse who is an investor. Double Dipping as they say. Give the Doctors a chance and the price will be less to the patient. She is the middle man and the Doctor only gets $100 out of the $700-$900 fee the patient pays. Isn't that crazy!!!!!!!!

I'd like to know if the laser treatment has FDA approval and if it's really effective for chronic toe nail fungus. Does it destroy the fungus completely or is there a chance it reoccur?

The procedure in all took about an hour. He cut the nails and filed them with a dremel to get them as thin as possible for the laser. The laser part was fine, it hurt a little bit on maybe two toes but all the rest were fine, no pain at all. Heh, the cutting and the file made them look much better then when I walked in the office. I also got a prescription for Naftin gel and I need to use that for the rest of my life. The drug itself was expensive so hopefully they come out with a generic.
I have to go back in 3 months and then 3 months after that. The Dr. said I may need to have the laser treatment once more. I paid $650 and it wasn't covered by insurance. I think it's worth trying it, I don't want to take Lamisil because of the potential for liver damage also when my father took Lamisil he lost his sense of taste. So there's a little more detail for you Born in Chico and as they grow I'll update again. Cheers! |

Any treatment prescribed by an MD or DPM for onychomycosis, a fungal infection of the nail is generally deemed aesthetic, and not covered by health insurance providers. |

I glad to head a little bit of news about the toe nail fungal. I'm thinking of getting the treatment here in Santa Monica. $950. And to help others i'm going to take a before and after pictures so the people can deside if its good for them too.

Well, it's been 3 weeks. Still putting the Naftin on twice a day. No changes that I can see. I was disappointed today when I read this article. I'll wait and see and hope I didn't waste my money.
