How terrible, thoughts and prayers are with this family during this difficult time.

My kids will no longer be allowed on tractors. Bless their hearts

I'm sorry that this happened to this family, but we all need to really be logical in what we allow our children to do. They are not permitted to be free in a car without the proper car seats and child restraints, why in the world would you feel it is acceptable to allow them to ride on the fender of a tractor?? Or on the lap of a parent?? Logic people - just think of the overall well being of your child before you allow them to do something that could result in their death.

This is just tragic. What the heck are people thinking??? Wait, I'm guessing they were not thinking. This is just stupid. Come on people, a little brain power goes a long way. My thoughts and prayers to this family. They will need it. I am very sorry for your loss.

What a stupid statement. Children ride in cars to get from one place to another. There is no reason or purpose for them to be playing on a tractor. It is sad how many children lose their lives because of ignorant parents.

Thanks Tulsa mom. This happened not too far from my in laws farm and all I could think about was my little girl riding on the tractor with her grandpa to feed the cows. Surely he wouldn't ever put her on the fender, I have only seen her ride on his lap but I couldn't help but think "what if". She is only three and such a tiny little girl anyway.

That poor family, but this was senseless.

I wouldn't call these parents, grandparents, or whomever ignorant, stupid or anything like that. They are human. I am a 40 year old down home country guy that as a kid my sister & I took turns everyday riding the tractor with dad & grandad, we're both still alive today. This was just a horrible accident. Sure this could have been prevented but so could 90% of all accidents.

My thoughts & prayers are with this family.

May God Bless You!!!!

This same thing happened around collinsville or sperry about 12 years ago. If I remember correctly, the grandfather had allowed the boy to ride on the fender and he fell off and was chewed up by the brush hog.

But wait! Why is someone brushhogging this time of year, there's not any brush growing yet??

I agree...I'm 28 yrs old and I grew up on a farm...There were 3 of us girls, we always got to ride on the tractor with dad or our uncle. Such a sad story. The family is not stupid, just people trying to spend time with their kid. My heart is with them. I am sure that they realize this could have been prevented, but when you are raised in the country, this is a normal thing. They really don't need anyones comments about how stupid or terrible this was

AGREED. People from the country are country people and thier way of life is a little different not in a better or worse way they, are just outside all the time and thier is no need for name calling none of you that are calling names prolly DON'T live on a farm with a bunch o f land so therefore NONE of you know what its like. He prolly didn't put the child on the fender DUH lay off people they lost a loved one A CHILD..... Please show some sorrow for this family NOT hurtful words....
