What a waste of time! Please report the news instead of gossip and second guessing. The Governor is entitled to make changes in assignments in her administration half way through the term. As I recall, she planned to use Monegan in another assignment. HE DECLINED -- that is not firing! He has the right to refuse and should not shut up! Why is the press trying to stir the pot to micromanage what is a normal administrative decision that may have nothing to do with this second guessing game! Give the governor credit that she has kept her comments positive which is far less than can be said about everyone else! Why weren't you fussing when the mayor discharged the same guy? It is the same administrative decision. Monehan declined the change in assignment where she thought he would be effective and was needed! Alaska has many real problems, please stick to real news and skip the gossip and whining. The trooper is lucky to be employed after some of his shenanigans that are overlooked. Are you next going to scrutinize him and all his dangerous behaviors and threats? Tazzing a young child, and threatening the life of a relative while entitled to wear a loaded gun is intimidation at least and reason to put on administrative leave to cool down. What about his preferential treatment when too drunk to drive and given a police ride home. The fellow is not ok. Monehan should have been told of these weaknesses and if you were the neighbor or person with knowledge, you should have reported it. Todd Palin or Sarah should have alerted those in authority of these issues -- to do less is irresponsible. Major mishaps usually are preceded by signs of warning and responsible citizens need to report. HOW funny being a good citizen to bring these and other incidents to the attention of the boss is now twisted into gossip as if a "personal vendetta". Please stop the gossip and whining and report news. Many folks come to Alaska and need to know accurate information about how to live and coexist here among wild animals in this beautiful community. Please help inform. When gossip occurs, it is a simple matter to step back and remind folks of the law or process instead of stirring the pot to sensationalize or improve ratings. KTVA staff must remember not to act like the National Enquirer. News please, information please, no sleave please! Thanks

Wooten tazered an 11 year old child. He deserves to be fired for demonstrating extremely poor judgement. Frankly, he should have been charged with child abuse. Since Monegan didn't seem concerned about a trooper exhibiting outrageous and dangerous behavior he needed to be replaced. By the way, did Wooten use State equipment to assault the child?

I agree, ANC must be a relative. There is some evil going on in the governor's office for sure.

Well, the G.O.P. has her whether they want her or not. My guess is that she was pissed at her ex- brother-in-law for his behavior. Who wouldn't be? But why get yourself involved in his firing? Doesn't show too much executive judgment! Is this just another pretty face?
