uh paint ball?...... but yeah lock these jerks up or serve equal justice.
paint balls may not harm anyone physically but emotionally it would be "hurtful". So either way, it's still wrong.

Please tell me how shooting anyone with any kind of gun can be considered "harmless fun." Perhaps everyone these guys shot at can have a free shot back at them? You know, just for some harmless fun...
I agree with you!

Thanks for the information! I was wondering how one could sharpen a small round BB pellet.

No one sharpens pellets.
They used pointed "hunting" pellets.
Pellet rifles are capable of taking small game reliably, and capable of killing a human in terms of a "lucky" shot.
It would have been rather fitting if someone had shot back.

You better save your money if you are white and you want to commit a crime in Cook County.
$300,000 and $400,000 bonds!?
I've seen stories in this paper of gangbangers, who shot someone WITH A REAL GUN, getting a $250,000 bond.
I think its a stretch to say that someone using a BB gun has committed an ATTEMPTED MURDER.
Anyway, blacks don't want to see white offenders get low bonds or low sentences and whites really don't give a crappe what happens to white offenders. So, why not jack up the bond?
Cook County judges often go overboard when whites are standing in front of them, particullarly for violent offenses. On one hand, the judges are sending scores of black males to the penitentiary and, on the other hand, they don't want to lose their vote.
Very strange.
Hold on... judges are SENDING black males to jail? Uh, no. Black males are committing crimes that send themselves to jail. The judge is a public servant that is doing society a favor by locking violent BLACK males up. In addition, why should criminals in jail have the right to vote? Also, would you feel good about your job if you knew that honest people didn't vote for you, but you won the election because scores of criminals did? That's VERY STRANGE.

I think that we all realize that a pellet gun is not as powerful as a real gun. However, a pellet gun can cause some serious damage. No doubt that these two kids should be punished. Attempted murder charges ARE appropriate. You don't think that a pellet gun can kill someone? Probably not, but if they shoot someone, and that person becomes dizzy, falls down and cracks their head open and dies...guess what? THAT'S FIRST DEGREE MURDER!! If the judge goes easy on these kids, then they won't learn anything from this, and the next thing they do won't be a pellet gun for fun. It'll be a real gun FOR REAL.

I'm not defending them, but I wouldn't have expected a pellet to penetrate the skin, let alone any organs. I do acknowledge, however, that the pellets were allegedly "sharpened".
I doubt they had any idea that they were inflicting any more than a "bee sting" upon their victims.
That said, stupid is as stupid does.
I've used pellet guns to kill small game so yes, they can be quite dangerous. In addition to the ones you see in the photo below, there are hollow point, power point, etc.

If I get shot by a punk with a pellet gun, I don't want him to serve jail time, or be forced to give me his family's assets, or even be arrested for it. All I want is for everyone to get out of my way as I approach him with a baseball bat.

"Please don't blame video games. I would blame the pot they were smoking before video games."

Please! Amsterdam has weed sold openly in coffee shops and you don't hear about this kind of crap going on there. These two guys are social deviants in a country and culture that breeds social deviants like roaches, and no presence or lack of pot or video games would change their ill will, or anyone else's for that matter. It's always some dumb excuse. Back in the early 20th century, everyone blamed crime novels for bad behavior. You know what I blame bad behavior on? An individual's conscious effort to make stunningly selfish and rotten choices. Period.

Some here say that "I wouldn't have expected a pellet to penetrate the skin, let alone any organs. I do acknowledge, however, that the pellets were allegedly "sharpened".

"I doubt they had any idea that they were inflicting any more than a "bee sting" upon their victims."

Fact -- A modern pellet rifle -- of either .177" or .22" caliber -- discharges its lead projectile at well over 1000 feet per second, making it nearly as dangerous as a .22 rifle (firearm.) These pellet rifles are used for serious target shooting and small game hunting, and CAN EASILY KILL A PERSON.

Their victims could have died or been blinded or paralyzed for life.

These two should be treated just as harshly as if they were using an actual firearm.

Believe you me -- a policeman who sees someone pointing a rifle at him will shoot first and ask technical questions later. These idiots were risking their own worthless lives as well.

The street is real. Things that happen there are final. There are people out there you do not want to have anything to do with. Don't do s**t like this. You won't like the emergency room, the Cook County Jail, the Illinois Department of Corrections, or the refrigerated drawer at the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office -- depending on who sees you first and how fast you do or don't drop that thing.

I do not wish harm upon anyone..... however I am familiar with these families and they always thought they were better than everyone. They should now look at what trouble their own family has created and realize that they stink just as bad as everyone else.

I wonder if these are the idiots who shot bb pellets through my front picture window last summer.

I hope they do some time.
