Hey John. Interesting story but I'd really like you to keep up the pressure on the "Combine" and our local gangsters as well as the general mismanagement of our public funds and trust.

I want Chicago to be squeaky clean in time for the 2016 Olympics and a city (and state) that I can be proud of.

Mayor Daley's pals are talking to Tom Dart this evening.

I wouldn't shower alone if I were him. Bubba in Unit #1 may want to help the wife beater.

It is simple.

1. start with the judge and ask him about the 1 million cash bail. He is obviously in the know and on somebody's payroll.

2. Simply someone pay his bail and let him talk on camera with a lawyer.

3. Then publicize it!

Good morning John. You are my favorite columnist. I like the way you describe the mayor, all the governors and especially the "outfit".Keep up the good work.

Joe, don't you get it? This IS THE COMBINE!!! The combine IS business in chicago and cook county, and has a huge footprint nationally (what is obama, a 12?) Anyway the combine IS business.... they are so intertwined that they are one and the same.... He had to grease the wheels to get established, wheels that are connected to gears that are connected to other wheels, that are ultimately powered by rats running full-bore at city hall (grand and harlem)... Are people around here ever going to look ahead to the day when what comes AFTER this regime is out of power? Can it be worse than it is now? "what's on the menu... hmmm... looks rotten... I'll take that with a coke.(I'd prefer a budwieser, but won't pay the esteemed Jackson family)"

I don't care who does it or who comments on it, but I, like most former residents and visitors, want the dreck out of Chicago. We moved to another state because of work, but used to try to get back to the city every couple of months for a weekend.
We, both working and making decent money, are now priced out of those weekends by the greed in Daley's idea of what Chicago should be. Add the Combine and the pinky-ring criminal element to the mix and it makes a truly beautful city less than it should be.

I think the bail is so high because they want to pressure him into talking on the legal record, not in the media...

Some day, the corruption-based House of Cards which comprises much of the governments of this city, county and state, will come fluttering down. Maybe this will be the base card that causes it.

And if anyone is stupid enough to try they will get
more attention than they ever dreamed of. You could

"how about you get outraged about low income housing, starving kids, failing schools, etc, instead of your made up crime dramas."

Good point CrazyKassAtItAgain, however if these scumbags were not bilking the taxpayers for millions upon millions of tax dollars, that money could be going towards low income housing, starving kids, etc, instead of asphalt contractors and trucking companies and the rest of them.

Anita Alverez announced last week she was going to make a stab at political corruption in Cook County. Maybe extremely high bail is her tactic, they think Guantanamo is torture try Cook County for a week.
This could be the reason for Daley's rant two days ago.
Try this scenerio on for size;
Daley talks to Obama-
Obama talks to Holder
Holder tells Fitz he is to do as da Mayor says & go after drugs and gangs, the Cook County States Attorney is now in charge of local corruption...It's a simple case of the "fox watching the hen house", it's the Chicago way.
