"David Wolf, real estate agent with the Wolf Residential Group of @Properties, says he's not seeing as many new-construction or conversion projects in Bucktown as he did a year ago. "

Maybe that's because the oversized Statement Homes and ill-fitting mansions that were rampantly developed in Bucktown in the last five to eight years sit empty, or for sale, or both. Even the "French Embassy," and outsized mansion developed in Bucktown sits empty. I know about this because it was profiled by this very paper in its "Neighborhoods for Sale" series.

I would like to add that the borders are a bit off for Logan Square. The South boundary is Armitage not North Ave. I have check this on several websites. Please beware that home values drastically change because of this.

As a 50-year (my age) resident of Bucktown (owning a rehabbed, 1890s house, just around the corner from the house in which I grew up (that my immigrant grandparents purchased in the 1920s and that later my parents and ultimately I owned), I can uncategorically state that "True" Bucktown's borders are: Ashland on the East, Western on the West (realtors, please note: "there ain't no such thing" as "West Bucktown." That would be Logan Square), Fullerton on the North and Bloomingdale (and the Bloomingdale Trail) on the South.'Nuff said. Case closed.

BCO's Southern Boundary
The Bucktown Community Organization's bylaws state that the southern boundary of the organization is North Ave.
The Wicker Park Committee's bylaws state that the northern boundary of the organization is North Ave.
Both sets of bylaws are on file with the Illinois Secretary of State.
It is correct the the West Bucktown Organizaton located west of N. Western Ave is in the Logan Square Community area.

Buyers in Bucktown beware of incomplete information. There are two neighborhood schools in Bucktown- Burr and Pulaski. Drummond is not openly enrolled in grades pre-k-4. Though more than 50 % of the stdents in the pre-k-4th grades are from the proximity Drummond's Montessori program is a a magnet created by a 2.5 million dollar federal desegregation grant stipulating access to students city wide . Pressure from misinformed buyers could create a negative atmosphere around our school. As a parent at Drummond I say thanks to the teachers and administrators, almost all very long time faculty, for making the school a wonderful place. Parents from every corner of our city have contributed to it's sucess.

Crime is up in bucktown? How about Humboldt, I guess this guy likes to think Bucktown stretches all the way to california ave when its good to sell property in "bucktown" but look how he runs when it comes to crime.

Crime in bucktown is not worse it has gotten better, less crime, more police roaming even at late at night when you really want to see police.

This guy is full of it if he says crime seems to be up/
