Tunney should be really proud of himself. He forced an 84 year old man, who has worked there for over 20 years to "resign" over a stupid parking incident when a reprimand would have been sufficient. Getting up and going to work is probably what kept this senior citizen going. This is beyond petty, I'm disgusted. Tunney is a total coward and a liar. He should at least be honest and admit that he fired him if he feels he did the right thing instead of pretending it was Yonan's decision. Did he also threaten him not to speak to the media? It's not like Yonan to not want to comment. Disgusting, cowardly liar Tunney.

Tunney is a jerk, but he actually did us a favor. I heard Yonan on a radio show trying to defend himself and was more appalled that he was on the city's payroll than I was at him making his dumb placard. He certainly isn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier and regardless of his age, he couldn't talk his way out of a paper bag. He had no business being on the city payroll.

Neither does Tunney, but that's another argument.

Also, if the Trib is so upset that this news was released late Friday so no-one would see it, then why didn't it wait until Monday morning to report it to insure more people would read it?

Give me a break...Tom Tunney is the alderman...not us...he had an employee, regardless of age, who misrepresented himself to achieve special privileges. The alderman had to let him go. He did the right thing. And, no I'm not a Republican.
