What led them to stop the car in the first place? I often drink and "smoke" and have never been caught.

Its time to tax this stuff.
The Government allows it to come into the country, why is it against the law to use it ? Tax it and control it like alcohol and cigarettes.

Does anybody know that the current arcane laws regarding marijuana are the direct result of one man's crusade against hemp related products and the fear that they would adversely affect his own commercial empire? Back in the thirties, W.R. Hearst saw probable competition to his newsprint and textile industries, so he lobbied congress to pass these insane laws. Had nothing to do with getting high. The fact that they are still there indicates the lasting power of lobbyists.
As a nation, we have a lot of growing up to do.
P.S. Why have I never been able to stumble across even one duffle bag of this lost dope in all my wanderings around this country?

You'll have to get an honest job - perhaps you could handcraft bongs at home, or grow weed for your friends and neighbors.

What a joke. The majority of people who read a story like this about a marijuana arrest are either unimpressed, amazed that it is still illegal or are sympathetic to the people getting arrested. It is the number one cash crop in this country corn being the second. Imagine the tax revenue it could generate. It has proven medical benefits and is far less dangerous as a recreational drug then alcohol or tobacco.

Itís obvious at this point that the reason it has not been legalized and taxed is because of the pharmaceutical companies and their ties to our government. They are the biggest pushers on the planet. Legalized marijuana would cut into their profits like a hot knife through butter. Think about that the next time you pop a pill for youíre restless leg syndrome followed by another so you can have sex and another to get to sleep. I bet you a joint would have covered all three bases!

I'm getting the munchies just thinking about it.

It's beyond time to legalize and tax it for personal use (off duty of course).

No one could ever convince me that marijuana is worse than alcohol. Never got a hangover from toking on a doobie in my youth.
