this was ridiculous. the redline got shut down. we were all stuck on a train for an hour and a half. they were telling us to not open the doors but it was so stuffy and hot people were sweating and throwing up. finally, they let us evacuate the trains and led us out but gave us no information after that. hundreds of people were stranded in chinatown. no cta employees were present to help out anyone. i was wit three other people and none of us had more money for a bus. we had no idea how to get back to the northside and the cops were just as clueless as we were. one women had 7 children with her!! they were crying and being evacuated off the train in a fury of confusion. what if this was a serious threat? and where was cta to answer any questions or direct people on how to get home? ugh.

I know that crime scenes need to be secrred and all of that. But why is it always some numbskull wants to off himself and either take others with him, or have it be a high profile ordeal.

Just pull the plug, a-hole and let the rest of us carry on with our lives.

If it were a sniper, or a nearby fire or something, I could see the need for delaying the train. Couldn't a quicker assesment of the scene be made and determine, that the train could resume it's course?

Other situations, a lot less serious than this, involving police,(traffic accidents, etc.) Seem to, sometimes regard the public as if they were invisible. I know there must be an official reason things like this drag on a lot longer than you would think, but just treat the public as human beings.
