Rep. John Fritchey's Open view from the inside of a corrupt system. Did you see how Fritchey ruined our neighborhood?

Tribune investigation:
DEVELOPERS: Many give to aldermanic campaigns in quest to build bigger, pricier projects.
ALDERMEN: They decide who can build what. Money, not planning, often drives process.
HOMEOWNERS: They are often left out of the decision-making and boxed in by towering structures.

Why would State Rep/ Fritchey be dealing with the zoning on a mansion?

I lived on the Street Wicker Park for 15 years. At first it was great to see so many of the older homes get remodeled. Then all of a sudden, the homes started to disssapear, and the 8-10 flat Condos started to "Blot" out the sun. The neighborhood became so congested, you could never have guest over. My kids grew-up and absoulutely Loved the Wicker Park neighborhood. When I told them we were moving, I thought I'd have a revolt on my hands.
we were walkin distance from 4-! bus lines, Direct-route bus #56 Milwaukee, to Downtown Chicago. Blue-line directly to O'hare and Downtown as well. Grocery stores, Drug Stores, Restaurants, truly a great place to live.
However, it ceased to be a neighborhood.
Sold my place for a "RIDICULOUS" price, move to Beverly, on the South side, and have found once again, that Neighborhood feel. Funny how I always thought of the South Side as the "Boondocks". Metra train gets me Downtown, with eaze, Since the Dan Ryan Expressway is finally fixed, I can travel back to the North Side with/out much traffic and hassle. Things are more spread-out out here, but you get used to it. I miss all the good restaurants and entertainment available in the Wicker Park Area, But I'll be here in Beverly till I die.
Gentrification has it's merits, but it's NOT for the little guy. I'm still waiting to see what happens to Humboldt Park. Before I left the Wicker Park area, 1- of my workers had just gotten an eviction notice, and he was mad as hell(He was forced to move further West), He lived 3-Blocks from the Infamous "Puerto Rican" Flags on Division street.
I also wonder when the people will understand that many of the Aldermen(are Hispanic) are are selling out the neighborhood with those monster Condos and zoning changes.
