I'm looking to get in shape and lose some pounds, can anyone here tell me if Superior Health & Fitness is worth going to? And what their monthly membership cost is?

It was 40$ a month. They have decent equipment and a pool. Saunas and hot tubs. Racquetball courts and they were offering classes of different sorts. It's a nice and friendly place.

I'm looking to gain some muscles too, which I don't think starving myself will do!

It's not $40 a month. For an individual without any discounts it was $57 a month just 3-4 months ago. No free tanning, the equipment is old, it's not 24 hrs and although I do not know for sure since I never played or bothered to look into it, even the racquet ball courts were extra. It's absolutely ridiculous, they partners know it's ridiculous but they also know 1 important thing. They are the only game in town. If someone was to open a gym like the one in Sayre, Superior would be closed as fast as memberships ran out!! And that's gonna happen a lot quicker than they know..

The memberships vary depending on what best applies to you. Single is 61 couple is 79 but they offer senior discounts which is for 55 years and older and they also have corp discounts which pertains to oilfield workers that have a local office, hospital staff, school staff, city workers, fire and police departments..etc. Those memberships are 53 for a single and 63 for a couple. You can also have an add on to your account for $16. Racquetball is included along with pool, sauna, and hot tubs. And yes tanning is separate. It's honestly a great place with a very friendly work staff..at least I am! It's very clean and all round great facility. You can come in talk more about prices and we will give you a tour and talk about classes available if you are interested!

That's what you get with a "partnership".. Nobody wants to spend money but all the partners want a piece of the pie, so you get outrageous prices for a below avg gym..

So the prices have gone up a little. It's the economy. Chances are you'll qualify for a discount with all the places they sponsor. Everything but tanning is included and it's a lot of extras. The pool is heated too. Personally, I can find plenty of ways to work out at home, but I miss the gym "community". Best of luck to you pudgy! Hope it works out for you.

I'm on a pretty tight budget right now so $60 a month is kind of steep.

Zumba is a great workout. Walmart has a nice selection of workout DVDs as well. They also have some cheap weights that you can use while doing the Zumba or whatever.
