I HATE this stupid $0.05 cent charge per bag. It's not just the grocery store or the drug store. If you get a sandwich at Subway or Quiznos they don't give you one of those long bags that holds the sub...you just get it rapped in paper unless you want to pay the nickel.

At first I didn't care about this because I figured "it's just a nickel". But it's really adding up. For instance, Safeway has the worlds worst quality plastic bags. By the time I get my groceries home, there are at least two broken handles, and about 80% of the bags have holes in them. When carrying ones groceries, a handle breaking causes the bag to spill it's contents onto the ground. As for the holes, I like to use these plastic bags for my small trash cans at home. If they have holes in them, I just end up with more trash.

It's so nice every time I'm in another county to get surprised with not being charged for a stupid bag. I mean, who is requesting bags just to go outside and throw them on the ground? Honestly, I never knew this was even a minor problem. I'm not even joking when I say the only time I remember seeing a bag littered on the ground was in the movie "American Beauty".

Hi there sweet cherry pie! I know how you feel. I owned and operated a full line grocery and beer store in North Potomac for years. Had to close because staff was stealing from me. Anyway, I had to charge .55cents per bag to makes ends meat. Though I loved watching a lot of retards (like you :)) that wold stuff 20 lbs of stuff in one bag, then watch it all break in the parking lot. Would LAUGH SOOO hard esp if it was cold or raining. They would come in all teary eye, and I would say, "I break, I buy, you break , YOU BUY" ehehehehehehheheheh. Ahh losers!! Got to go and have sherry whack my weiner!
