MARYLAND and MAINE WILL SOON
MAKE MARIJUANA LEGAL
(LIKE COLORADO AND WASHINGTON
HAVE ALREADY DONE!).

How many U.S. Senators and how many
U.S. Congressmen and women will
take a quick bicycle ride a very short
distance over to the State of Maryland,
which is adjacent to the more restricted
city of Washington, D.C., for a quick toke
at lunchtime?

Also, crippling the economy in
one sector next year, most of the Skiing industry in
Vermont and New Hampshire will suffer
a huge smokey blow from the lure of
marijuana scent coming on the wind from
Maine. More fishermen will go to Maine
than New Hampshire or Vermont.
More hunters will go to Maine than
New Hampshire or Vermont.
Nothing like a long, hard day of natural
sports to make a man want to sit
back in his cabin and light up a pipe
or pure Maine wind-o-the-woods Marijuana.

AUGUSTA – State Rep. Diane Russell
(D-Portland)
introduced a bill Thursday
that would make possession of limited amounts
of marijuana legal for adults 21 and older
and establish a system in which marijuana
is regulated and taxed like alcohol.

Rep. Russell’s legislation would make Maine
the third state
to legalize and regulate the possession
and sale of marijuana
to people over the age of 21,
joining Washington and Colorado.

Officials say Delegate Curt Anderson
introduced the measure in the
House of Delegates on Thursday.

The measure would make marijuana legal for adults 21
and older as well as create a system to
regulate and tax it, like alcohol.

According to the Baltimore Democrat,
the measure would also direct the Maryland
comptroller to license marijuana
to be placed in retail stores,
wholesale facilities,
and testing facilities.

Officials say if the bill were to pass,
then it would create an excise tax of
$50 per ounce
on wholesale sales.
