Senate Bill 17 opens up an entirely new realm of social destruction. How long will the general public choose to remain misinformed about what is truly going on around them as more and more of their rights are ruthlessly stripped away? Perhaps we should arm local law enforcement officers with syringes. This would in fact, eliminate any tinge of hesitation when a routine traffic stop just happens to escalate into what could be conveniently christened an emergency situation. If only the human jugular happened to protrude three or so inches from the neck insuring the accuracy of a quick stab by the present public servant(s) to determine whether or not someone is over the legal limit. A harsh satirical perspective perhaps but after all, how does one begin to define “reasonable” and who are the ones fabricating the definition. These are the times and not even the most diplomatic of our forefathers could have envisioned such an arbitrary annihilation of the freedoms they so wholeheartedly fought to instate and secure.
