Then Tim shouldn't have run, from safety, for a House seat until his Senate term was up. No, this would never be about the nastiness between him and expected Senate President Tom Niehaus. I think both chambers should tell him to make his decision and then they'll make theirs, without Grendell's input. He could do everyone a favor by going back to run his doughnut shop full time.

Mr. Bloviator was never about what the people want, but what he wants. This is a classic example. The voters elected him, yet he is thinking about not serving. What a bag of d-ou-che.

There ya go, talk about corrupting the election process...
Win the office because people want you, then decline the office so your party can fill the position with who they want there. Far easier than any form of voter fraud, but we'd expect that from the party of NO.

Let the voters decide, not some corrupt politician. Problem solved.

Mr. Grendell is an arrogant individual. It appears that if continues in the Senate that he "stole" the election to the House since he apparently had not intention of serving there. His ethics in this situation has to be suspect.

If he went back to his bakery at least he would be serving the public.

Fiscal conservative? Ha. He just wants his wife to slurp from the public dole as well. Typical politician. Just wait 'til Kasich's crew of "fiscal conservatives" hits the dole.

This man is evidently a game playing Republican who is using the system. I vote Republican 90% of the time but this jerk-xxx needs to be thrown out and his wife denied any judgeship. They have shown themselves to be untrustworthy and I sure wouldn't want to appear before a judge as crooked as her.

I am a Republican, but this guy is a douche, typical politician. I can't believe his constituents even vote for him. Let him vacate his House position, then appoint someone else to the Senate position. He is absolutely abusing the system. Next he'll say he should be able to stay longer than the 8 year limit.

I guess he is "fiscally conservative" until it comes to getting his wife a great government job as well.

Trying to figure out whether the rotten politicians are Democrats or Republicans?? Flip a coin. You will be right either way.

If this clown doesn't want the seat he was elected to, then the VOTERS should choose someone for it.

Tim sold the doughnut shop.. so not an option. Tim never misses an opportunity to paint himself as the savior of the people....and in Geauga County if you aren't Republican you will not elected. Fortunately, most of our other office holders are far less egotistical and do a good job. I did vote for Tim because his two opponents were even worse. I guess our House District and Senate district is just Grendell land....hard to believe that in a county of 90.000+ only his wife can uphold his values!

Let him do both. Everyone needs to exercise and think of all the running he could do between the two chambers. Oh wait..more double dipping. Scratch that idea real fast.

This guy stinks in his approach to this position. The caucus picks the replacement, not the out going guy. The article indicates his wife is a judge, probably knocking down 120k per year. My guess is she resigns, collects pension and gets appointed to the seat.

Readers may recall that his wife nearly shut down the government a few years back because she wanted extra money for her airport and would not vote for the budget until she got it.

Two arrogant peas in a pod in my opinion. I hope the legislature has some backbone and tells him to make a decision, get out of the way and shove his opinion on the replacement. This makes the R’s potentially look as corrupt as the D’s with this kind of game.

This guy also wants to privatize workers' comp in Ohio and is in bed with the Insurance Companies outside of Ohio who want to come in and steal the money. Guess he is waiting on that big Insurance job after he is term-limited out.

Grendell--isn't he the one who ran the kangaroo court hearing on Cathy Collins-Taylor's appointment?
