OHIO has ZERO ANIMAL PROTECTION LAWS! The year is 2010 and OHIO is 1 of the last states in our Nation to have a FELONY provision for all of the horrendous crimes against animals coming out of this Godforsaken state. This not only encourages criminals within this state to go virtually UNNOTICED and UNPUNISHED but also increases the alarming trend in criminal activity this state represents. Ohio House Bill 70 "NITRO'S LAW" inspired from the brutal crimes of 19 starved dogs (8) of which died including a family's Rottweiler Nitro at an elite K9 training facility in Youngstown, Ohio in October 2008. Owner & operator of High Caliber K9, Steve Croley was convicted on only 4 misdemeanor infractions with the equivalent punishment of a traffic offense. Chairman Tim Grendell of the Senate Judiciary Committee has SHELVED Ohio HB 70 "NITRO'S LAW" for almost 1 year. It will expire December 31, 2010 along with any chance at making Ohio a better state for companion animals.
