Ohio has more at risk than any of the other Great Lakes States when it comes to water diversion. Lake Erie is by far the shallowest of all the Great Lakes - the only Great lake whose bottom is above sea level. Lake Erie has more consummable fish than all of the other Great Lakes combined. Lowering water levels through diversion risks precious fish spawning grounds and the ability of the fish to multiply and grow. Western Lake Erie in particular is known as the Great Lakes nursery with the best spawning grounds and the warmest waters for swimming and recreation. Conversley, Western Lake Erie is the 'canary in the coal mine'- more vulnerable than anywhere else in the Great Lakes.
The Great Lake levels are dropping and much of the U.S. is getting thirstier - Ohio should have been the first to pass the Comapct. Grendell's foot dragging risks a great Ohio economic asset - Lake Erie. Legislators pass the COMPACT NOW....

I agree with Sandy, Grandell and Niehaus should get off their high horse's and get the compact signed as soon as the Senate recevies it from the House!!!
