When is our Commonwealth Attorney going to stop focusing on his own political agenda and begin to crack down on DUI's??? One DUI, ok.....not good, but a mistake. Two...three...four...five....i n several counties within the Commonwealth.....license revoked twice....then given back both times......and we wonder why so many continue to be victims of DUI. An once of prevention....

Your anger would be better directed at the judge that gave his license back. The CA can only suggest.

Judges are 95% of the problem. The Cops catch them, CA prosecutes, but the judges set sentence.

Place the blame where it belongs.

Where are you getting your information that he has had "Two...three...four...fiv e....in several counties within the Commonwealth.....license revoked twice....then given back both times"? This is not the case at all, get your story straight.

A youth ministry with 10 - 15 year old kids still partying at 10p.m. and a teen with permanent mental trauma. I just don't know! Sounds as though someone is putting the ball into play for a lawsuit.

Commonwealth A's are truly stupid, they only care about getting the money for the offense.

Who cares what you "Just Don't Know" These were honor students, no alcohol, no drugs, and at home! They didn't pick up the bottle and decide to drive drunk. Maybe you should keep your "Sounds as thoughs" to yourself!

Excuse me "Abby," but the time that the kids were outside in THEIR front yard and the fact that they are a part of a youth ministry has NOTHING to do with the crime that was committed against them by the man who decided he could drive while drunk. I pray that you suffer the trauma of seeing a car coming at you and you don't have the chance to get out of the way. Seeing your life flash before your eyes is an understatement. We will pray for you that you see beyond your shortsightedness and think about these kids that almost lost their lives. We also pray for this man, hoping that he gets the help he needs to be delivered from his addiction.

I meant to say in my previous comment that I pray that you NEVER suffer the trauma that these kids suffered. I was typing too fast and missed that important word. But the overall sentiments of my comments remain the same. These kids need to be embraced and Chesterfield County nees to do something about the speeding on Valencia Road.

drunk driving is wrong. we all already know that. but i would not let my kids hang out in the front yard near the street at that time a night when this kind of thing if more likely to happen.. when are parents going to be held to higher standards?

Thank you for your prayers, Alisa. I, nor my family, will definitely not suffer this trauma. We are all in by dark - possibly play in fenced in backyard in summer at night. Yes, I do hope speeding on your street is addressed and I also wish these children a speedy recovery.

There is nothing wrong with 10-15 year olds in their front yard playing even if it is at 10PM, they were at home, no drinking just having a good time with socializing and not getting into any trouble. They were not at the mall or hanging out at the corner fast food restaurant. The blame lays with the DRUNK DRIVER, what a shame that you cannot control your drinking and stay at home when you do. I hope you are punished to the full extent of the law, which I"m sure will be a slap on the wrist. Even if you lose your license that will not stop you from driving. How disgusting for you. I hope all those young people are doing okay this morning.

People aren't even safe from this kind of event in their BEDS, anymore. In past months at least three crashes in the nation have caught people sleeping in their own homes and suddenly a car has crashed through the wall - one car came to rest ON the slumbering homeowners! I will say that I cannot remember whether all of them were dui's or reckless dis-regard in nature, however the point is that a fence or wall or even the time of day, shall not keep you safe from speed and carelessness behind the wheel.

The countys raking it in or are they?the outrageous fines are putting many in debt.If the ecomony was good not so bad,its not so quit all community corection for pretrial. That should be illegal. If forced to go to this you should'nt have to post bond.People without cars family it is dufficult on.Sex and violent offenders need a top slot.I was told by a judge to quit my fulltime job to attend 2 meetings a week. Not a drug or drinking charge.I needed a beer after those tedious things.felt great before it.point is a lot of people have fines they can't pay.County puts a lot of Needless strain on struggling family.
