Yeah, sure you are right. How much do they shove under the table for the right to remain a monopoly here in "teahead" land? The "rethuglicans" keep their hands out for the cash payments to let them keep jacking us up. Have the powers to be lifted up any
opposition to these outrageous piling on of surcharge after surcharge?
I doubt that they are a socialist company, they just keep spreading the wealth around
to remain a monopoly, big mega businesses do this you know.
I know more than you think about the company nothead. In fact, without giving up privacy, let me just say I live with someone who spent quite a bit of time with the company. Post Script: They are socialist in practice. See my other post regarding two projects in particular that clearly define such culture. You couldn't pay me enough as a business professional to work for this company.

I didn't say anything about ladies, you did. I was responding to a nasty comment you made toward me. You know what you said. Swim baby swim, you crave the attention.
You're a strange guy...I have no clue what you're talking about.

The one you live with is a practicing socialist or dom. pwr.?
So be it, things get done anyway.
Kind of strange that we have a company that practices socialism and the "rethugs" in the gen. assembly can't do a thing about it.
Wonder why?

You know what I said head. Dom. is the socialist. Come on guy, I make Limbaugh look left wing. Good one though. I got a smile out of that. Don't blame the GA yet. Remember, this most recent slam on our bill only took place two months ago. If it keeps up, I have every confidence the GA will speak. Perhaps, the SCC will take a further look pror to that.

The money is being distributed right now for them to do nothing.
I know money talks and bs walks; but Dom., SCC and the GA will flip the script. Money will talk and bs will talk. How much is it worth to ya?

My electric bill went out of control last year. I had a 1,000.00 bill. So this year I was determined this was not going to happen. At the beginning of th cold season I refused to turn my heat on. I live alone. I have lived for the past 4-5 months with out heat. I only use my dryer 2 times a month and was living in one room of a 3 bedroom house.
I would cook in a coat, and would wear a coat to the bathroom to take a 5 min. shower. 2 months ago I got a $99.00 electric bill. I called Rappahonnock Electric to ask why my bill was so high. They told me it must be your heat. I told them I didn't have heat.
Because they read my meter with a computer in their office I ask if they would come out to my house and physically read it. I was told no. They said the best they could do is send me a printout of my usage via email. Well I decided to do some research myself. What I found is my water heater is being controled by the electric company. I have a energy saver water heater that is directly connected to their system. There is a large electrical wire the runs from the top of my water heater directly to their control box.
How I found out was, I went to the breaker panel and started turning off electrical appliances and then went out side to look to see how fast the meter was running. When I turned off the water heater at the breaker and went to see what the meter was doing, it had almost come to a complete stop. And the little red light on the box that is connected to the water heater was flashing.
Since then I have purchased a wood stove, had my fireplace bricked up,and still only have one energy saver light at a time on. I am waiting to see what my bill will be next month. If it is over $70.00 I will have to complain to some one at a state office. I know they are jacking up the rates. They think the general public is stupid. This issue has to be addressed. They are robbing us blind!!!!!!

We have continually watched our electric bill go up the past couple of years and this past month was as high as it's ever been!$518!!!! We have done nothing differently to have used that much. It was $310 in Dec. so how could it have gone up $200? I know it was cold but this is crazy! Don't know how to pay this bill, going to have to sign up for the budget billing to make it work and hope that someone finds out that they are doing so that they can be stopped!

My bill from last month was 60% higher than any of the last 13 months! We weren't even in town for a week and had the heat turned to 55 degrees. Something is wrong with their systems or they are doing something dramatically different.
I recieved the biggest shock. Trying to do the right thing and conserve energy by turning off lights, energy efficent light bulbs, unplugging everything I don't use and keeping my temp set...I receive a $300 bill for a household of 3 square footage of less than 1700. Normal bill range from 120 - 160 in winter and has been as low as 85 bucks in summer. This is wrong in every way. What can we do?

I have an OIL boiler for heat & hot water which I do NOT use at all except in extreme cold weather to warm the house up in the morning for an hour and for 15 minutes while I shower. I have ALL florescent lights (3 in use). I have one TV and one computer. I do not use my wall oven, only the microwave and toaster oven. I use my washer & dryer twice a month. I live alone, so I only heat ONE room with an electric/oil unit and one electric/blower unit (I have used these for two years). Well, I changed NOTHING, ZERO, ZIP, NADA in my usage from November 2009 through December 2009, but my bill went up $60.00 to almost $190.00?! I had the same, exact problem last year and when I contacted the SCC, I was told it would be 'researched', but all that happened was I got an email of my 'usage'. So, I asked about the meter being read and was told that the NEW 'digital' meters AUTOMATICALLY report usage to Dominion. Okay, so I ask that the meter be 'checked' for accuracy, well, I was told 'our meters are never inaccurate'???? So, then, I asked about the software for the billing/between the digital meters, etc., and I was told there were 'no problems'!! So, I had to just 'eat' the higher bills that MADE NO COMMON SENSE, just like I will have to again, now, in 2010. NO help from the SCC, so do not count on them. I hope and pray that WTVR follows through and investigates this outrage to a CONCLUSION. A suggestion...I am going to post a link to this Topix page in my Facebook...why don't others follow my lead? Let's see just how MANY people out there are having the same problem...POWER in NUMBERS?!

Maybe we should actually create a facebook page. Just send it to everyone we know, start watching the people who've had a severe increase in charges like we have. What could it hurt?

Please join the FACEBOOK GROUP listed below. We already have quite a few supporters, and we'd love for you to become one of them. Help us get to the bottom of this and stop Dominion from treating it's loyal customers with pure and utter injustice: http://www.facebook.com/group.php...

I am a little concerned with their new billing. For June my family was out of town for two weeks and our bill that month was 40.00 higher than last summer. I assumed it was due to high temps this year. When we got back from vacation our condenser went out - finally got it fixed after three weeks and our bill for july is even higher. This is not making any sense since the AC was not used for 5 weeks and these were by far the two highest bills I have received.
