Yes my bill has double, and I still don’t know why. Dominion Power said that the change been there the whole time, why is people just notice it? it's no way possible that you bill can double when you spend least time a home then you normally did the month before, whether is cold or not.

WTVR: Why not ask Dominion about their new IT divisionís Meter Data Management project? Also, ask them how many errors were found in the current system that calculates rates for current customers. Dig deep, and donít take what their PR representative has to say as total truth.

My husband and I live in King William, but were not with Dominion. We actually have electricity with Rappahannock Electrical Co-Op. Our bill sky rocketed, doubling what it usually is. We've done nothing different. We don't have the funds to pay "two" electricity bills... but we've got too. Don't feel bad Dominion Customers... you're not alone!!

The power bills have certainly gotten out of hand with their charges. Most people have families and its hard enough taking care of food, gas for cars, and all of the other bills. Now the power companies are raising their charges and really making it hard on the middle class folks. I think they need to lower their fees and try to help stimulate the economy. My health insurance went up and our employer made us all take a pay cut just to keep our jobs. I think the power companies should do their part.

Our electric bill is normally around $190 and even with the winter months it never changes but a couple of dollars, and this latest bill, it's over $340.00. After reading everyone's remarks, I'm almost convinced that something fishy is going on. We racked our brains trying to figure out where the extra usage came from, and couldn't. What is this about faulty equipment everyone is talking about?

Not only are the bills getting outrageous, but the Czars at Dominion are making it impossible to make arrangements to pay the bills. They have NO compassion for those of us who are raising children while living on the meager amount we get from unemployment. It is beginning to look a lot like Russia in the days before their demise. People living in freezind conditions because they could not pay the extreme prices of fuel and electric.

Think it might be a separation of classes, msboopva? I've noticed a lot of things here lately, other than electricity, that are much more expensive than they used to be. I know of inflation and whatnot, but there are many things now that you can either afford, or you can't. It seems to me like "middle-class" will soon be extinct.

The reason the bills are so high this year is because they have slowly implemented price increases to the services they offer. We need competition if we really want to save on bills.

We keep allowing them to increase thier prices. It's our fault. Call your Congressman and tell them about your power bill. This is the only way to keep prices from increasing again.

My power usuage has not doubled as it was reflected on my bill. Last months bill was almost double of any from last year. I can not believe they are getting away with this. Unfortnatly we have no other options but Virginia Dominion Power. Too bad they do not have any companies to compete with. My phone bill never jumps like this.

Of course we are going to be told by Dominion Virginia Power that these ridiculous increases to our bill is nothing new, it's just their way of justifying why they are taking advantage of good people
in today's economy. Why didn't we receive a pre-notification of some sort, explaining to us that there would be new "verbage" appearing on our bill and exactly what that new verbage would
mean? Why was there such a tremendous increase to our bill coincidentally as they would like us to think the very same month that the new "verbage" appeared on everyone's bill.

Let's face it, Dominion Virginia Power knows that there billing is
being regulated, so do you expect that they would admit to those who regulate them or to us that they are ripping people off?

Of course Dominion Virginia Power would love no more than for people to sign up for their Energy Share Program, it's just their way of saying as long as you agree to pay my outrageous charges, I'll allow you to pay me back in smaller increments, having you to believe that they are doing you a favor, but in reality it's they who really benefit from taking our hard earned money with these ridiculous increases.

All the suggestions given by Dominion Virginia Power were done to my home prior to winter. My thermostat is turned down low and I have not changed the setting, so please help me to understand why did my bill like everyone else suddenly increase?

You seem like you are just a true redneck from WV because Obama does not have anything to do with this electric bill thread. Seems to me you are very narrow minded and just want to put the blame on the President of the US. People wake up and be for real...

I have the same problem. It's because REC buys power from DVP. So when DVP customers see an increase ours is closer to a triple increase at times. My previous bill was $140, when I just got the new one it was $350. On top of that REC doesn't read the meters, so it's a guess of the amount of power that you used based on the weather conditions. It's rediculous!

Sounds like some collusion going on in the fat cats SCC's application for rate increases. INVESTIGATE NOW. CALL YOUR LAW MAKER IN THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

This is what happens when the "teaheads" want government out of their lives. When the government ceases to regulate the private sector will gouge you everytime. Thanks "teabagging" trolls, pay up also and don't complain to no one.
