Funny you bring it up and then insist it's a red herring when others comment on it.

Thats not defense thats correcting the Strawman fallacy common here. Its a lie the US doesnt negotiate with terrorist or rogue States. We have verifiable proof from as far back as George Washington we do.
The British wanted Maj. John Andre back. General Washington said the only guy, he'd take was Benedict Arnold. The British refused. Andre put the noose around his own neck.

We've long identified the GOP as a lawless cartel. That's why they remain an after thought politicaly and out of power for a decade.

A great line from George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley got some play this week on talk radio:“Barack Obama is really the President Richard Nixon always wanted to be.”

It came, on this past Tuesday’s (June 3) Hannity on FNC, in the wake of President Obama once more ignoring the law when he freed detainees at Guantanamo without giving 30-day notice to congressional intelligence committees.

Americans are in danger of losing their liberties as the country shifts to an "imperial presidency," with power concentrated in the executive branch, constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley said on Fox News.

Turley, who teaches at George Washington University, agrees with much of President Barack Obama's political positions, but fears Obama is moving the United States toward a system in which the president's power is unchecked by Congress and the courts.

Turley is just another of the loyal left who can no longer support the antics of Obama. Those with a conscience finally have reached a point of saturation with the lies and obfuscations, and frankly, ineptitude and hubris of this administration. Feinstein, Toobin, Turley, not to mention the host of vulnerable democrats. The only reason Congress isn’t being pressed to impeach the president by the media is the fact he was supposed to be the one to show everyone how it should be done. Instead, they got the guy who could write the “what not to do as president” book.
