A democrat I'd vote for. This candidate is a throwback to the party I signed on for as a youngster. A woman of color, to boot. 50 bucks has been sent to her campaign.

"Anti-Obama Democrat eyes Senate seat

May 11, 2014
THE BROWNSVILLE HERALD

Kesha Rogers might not appear to be in-line with the Democratic Party’s ideologies; she wants President Barack Obama impeached and rejects manmade climate change theories.

But the 37-year-old Houston native, who will face David Alameel in the May 27 Democratic primary runoff, identifies herself with the Democratic Party of yesteryear, a time she believes predated the corruption of the party brought on by Wall Street.

Rogers said she wants to restore the party to the esteem it enjoyed under presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy, and her approach bears a striking resemblance to those Demo-cratic icons, as some of her policies mirror those undertaken during those administrations.

“I have a track record and history of reviving the Kennedy-Roosevelt tradition,” Rogers said while in Brownsville recently.

Rogers sees reversing the 1999 repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act — a law signed into law by Roosevelt in 1933 — as the best way to shore up the country’s economy and protect it from another recession.
Rogers said the repeal of that legislation, which sought to separate banks and securities firms, is necessary to prevent another financial collapse similar to what happened in 2008.

But Rogers also seemingly takes a page out of Kennedy’s book by prioritizing space exploration in her platform."

From today's WSJ.:

Democrats Criticize Court Pick
Obama Pick for U.S. District Court in Georgia Draws the Wrath of Senators Over His Legislative Picks

May 13, 2014

"WASHINGTON—The White House is struggling to win Senate confirmation of a U.S. District Court nominee due to skepticism from Democrats, the latest example of how the president's picks are running into trouble with his own party.

Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee expressed sharp criticism Tuesday of Georgia Court of Appeals Judge Michael Boggs over his past support as a Democratic legislator for antiabortion measures, opposition to same-sex marriage and a vote against removing the Confederate flag from the Georgia state flag.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) said she was concerned Mr. Boggs may let his personal views on issues such as abortion affect his decisions if he is confirmed for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. "For my vote, I have to have certainty. I don't know quite how to get it, in view of this record," she said.

Mr. Boggs, who has the backing of the two Republican senators in his home state, told lawmakers he would be faithful to the rule of law and judicial precedent if confirmed. He also said his past positions on issues such as the Confederate flag may have been a mistake. "I wasn't a perfect legislator; I'm not a perfect judge," he said.

The administration's problems getting nominees through the Senate have surfaced despite Senate Democrats' decision last fall to change the chamber's filibuster rule to speed the approval of judicial and executive-branch nominees.

The defection of several Senate Democrats in early March quashed the nomination of Debo Adegbile to head the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, a vote President Barack Obama called "a travesty."

A few weeks later, the nomination of Vivek Murthy as U.S. Surgeon General stalled because as many as 10 Democrats signaled they would potentially oppose the nominee over his support for gun control."

Read the whole thing, it's fabulous and elucidating! Harry Reid is going to have to change the rules for nominees. He couldn't get 60 votes, so he changed the rules to simple majority. Now it looks like he'll need to change the rule to 45 or maybe even 40... Yeah, he's a leader...just like his guy on Penn Ave

Congratulations to Obama.

The first, and only president to win Fact Checker's Lie of the Year.

Our thanks for achieving what conservatives could not do--move significant numbers of democrats and independents into anti obama folks.

Oh, for the loons who simply can't help themselves....the thread topic is "Why they hate Obama".

Talk to your fellow libs and independents. They're the ones who have taken Obama's smile and turned it upside down. Ask them what he did to lose confidence.

Your public education is showing again RVA. I didn't say "I hire" foreigners, I said companies are hiring foreigners. It's happening all over the country, and the jobs don't pay that badly either.

Many companies are so desperate, they are willing to train and get you licensed. It starts at about $35,000 or more per year, and you should easily make $50,000 by the second year. Not only do they not charge you for the training, but they pay you while they train you as well.

Too much to ask of any American though. It's easier to live on the dole and do nothing. In the meantime, foreigners are sucking those jobs up and calling their family to move to the US to take advantage of our opportunities that lazy Americans won't even consider.

The burbs are just too damn boring for them. Look at your damn town, the infrastructure is atrocious b/c the white controllers funnel major money to build up he burbs at the expense of the cities. Oh yea, its a deliberate move to crush the poor.
No, our city suffered like many cities because of blacks and bussing.

When the liberals forced bussing in the cities, the people with the money moved out. Nobody wants to send their children to school with blacks. So what was left was people with no or little money to move out of the city. No money, no tax collections. No taxes, no ability to sustain city services such as police and fire protection.

When you have a city full of black criminals, the businesses move out as well. They have no protection against them. They have no customers willing to enter the city to do business.
The bottom line is all those racists you rally against are the people with the money. When the people with the money leave, the city further deteriorates and there is no hope in sight.

What matters is what you do with what you make. If money is pissed away then it does not matter how much anybody makes. Get off your deadbeat ass, be a man, get a full time job and hold it down. Be a contributing member of society instead of a leech. Quit knocking up all the females out of wedlock and spreading HIV are over the place especially among the youth. Statistics show just what that fullness means. Children of unmarried mothers of any race are more likely to perform poorly in school, go to prison, use drugs, be poor as adults, and have their own children out of wedlock.

In many ways, African-Americans are bearing the brunt of the HIV crisis in the United States. HIV is the virus that causes AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). African-Americans receive more AIDS diagnoses and experience more HIV-related deaths than any other racial or ethnic group in the United States. Here is a brief overview of the impact, possible causes, and potential ways to reduce the risk of HIV and AIDS in blacks.
The Impact of HIV in Blacks

Statistics only begin to show the tremendous toll HIV in blacks is taking.

And people with money moved out of the cities whenever they get money because living in the cities blows.

People with money who were white, of course, because bigots like yourself set up zones that blacks could not live.

As President Obama’s 2nd Term continues,
Kentucky’s coal industry finds itself in
difficult times.
While our coalfields in Western Kentucky have seen some increases in
production and employment, our Eastern Kentucky coalfields have faced
tremendous losses. Since January of 2012, Eastern Kentucky has lost more
than 4,500 direct coal mining jobs. It is important to remember that for every
one direct coal mining job lost, three other indirect jobs are also lost, some
of which are located in the Lexington area. Production in Eastern Kentucky
is also suffering, having dropped from 66 million tons to 49 million tons in
one year.
Why is this loss of coal employment and production occurring in Eastern
Kentucky? Traditional market forces, such as the price of Natural Gas and
factors affecting electricity demand, have had a negative impact. However,
the anti-coal policies of the current administration in Washington, DC have
hit Eastern Kentucky the hardest. With this region and one industry – coal
mining – selected for enhanced review or, as we call it, increased scrutiny,
our Eastern Kentucky coal miners have found themselves working on an
unfair playing field compared to the rest of the country.
At the Kentucky Coal Association (KCA), we believe it is necess
ary to
explain how President Obama and his Administration are thwarting job
creation through an overreaching Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA). This environmental booklet focuses on the continuation of KCA’s
lawsuit challenging EPA’s Clean Water Act permit guidance, as well as
explains the legal roadblocks that Kentucky coal mining has faced in
Appalachia during the last several years.

North Dakota Coal Production and Obama

http://www.heitkamp.senate.gov/public/index.c...

Heitkamp (Democrat) brought McCarthy to Dakota Gasification Company in Beulah to see firsthand the innovative techniques being used to produce natural gas from coal, and transport the CO2 for enhanced oil recovery. Before joining the Senate, Heitkamp was a director at Dakota Gasification. She has continually fought against unworkable EPA proposals and impossible timelines that threaten the future of coal, which provides nearly 80 percent of North Dakota’s electricity and supports more than 13,000 jobs in the state...Heitkamp today reiterated her forceful opposition to proposed EPA’s regulations on new power plants. She hopes the visit will help the EPA understand the negative impact new rules will have in places like North Dakota. Heitkamp believes that our state would be disproportionally impacted by any proposal that would set unachievable regulations on coal-fired power plants.

You're misreading the stats.

http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/risk/racialethnic/aa/f...

African Americans are the racial/ethnic group most affected by HIV.
The rate of new HIV infection in African Americans is 8 times that of whites based on population size.
Gay and bisexual men account for most new infections among African Americans; young gay and bisexual men aged 13 to 24 are the most affected of this group.

African American coupleBlacks/African Americans* have the most severe burden of HIV of all racial/ethnic groups in the United States. Compared with other races and ethnicities, African Americans account for a higher proportion of new HIV infections, those living with HIV, and those ever diagnosed with AIDS.

* Referred to as African Americans in this fact sheet.
The Numbers

New HIV Infectionsa

African Americans accounted for an estimated 44% of all new HIV infections among adults and adolescents (aged 13 years or older) in 2010, despite representing only 12% of the US population; considering the smaller size of the African American population in the United States, this represents a population rate that is 8 times that of whites overall.

First, there are a few things you need to know about McCarthy. She is the kind of person that the Obama administration both seeks out and loves at first sight. This woman has never held a real job in her life! Her college credentials are in soft sciences—social anthropology, environmental health engineering and public policy. Geez-oh-man, with degrees this mushy, this woman hasn’t had to cram for a final in her life. These are the kinds of degrees that you get by pontificating, bull-shitting and spouting neo-chic group think on a test. If the professor doesn’t have the foggiest idea what you have said, but agrees with your biases you are declared an,“A” student. I wouldn’t want this woman as my bridge partner, let alone my EPA administrator.
With her limited academic credentials it is obvious that McCarthy never worked at anything outside of environmental desk jobs. She took her mantra of,“…green good; business bad…” from state to federal offices right up the line. McCarthy has now reached the top of all bureaucratic boondoggles, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Data released by the Mining Safety and Health Administration show that the average number of coal mining jobs under the Obama administration is 15.3% higher than the average under the Bush administration. Nationwide, the job totals for 2011 and 2012 marked the highest two year period for coal mining employment in 15 years.

While the data show some variation among states, each of the top ten
coal producing states have had more mining jobs on average under the Obama administration than under the Bush administration, and nine saw higher coal mining employment in 2012 than at any point during the Bush years.
