Very true. One of our major bridges going in and out of downtown Cleveland was so bad that trucks had to detour around it. We are rebuilding it, but no thanks to any stimulus fund. Our Republican governor found a way to get the project going. The funny thing is DumBama comes here to visit all the time, especially during his election and reelection.
How much did your republican governor raise taxes to build that damn new bridge? Don't tell me some taxes wasn't raised for it either.....bet'cha the lottery proceeds earmarked for eductational endeavors got diverted to build that bridge. Oh....and by the way, your sneaky azz governor had his hands under the table accepting those federal stimulus dollars....i bet'cha that......but you loggerheads are too stupid to believe in whatever FOX and your governor says. If it wasn't for that stimulus money your state would be in bankruptcy court right now.

I for one would love every state to take care of their own everything. Less money to the federal government and more money to the state. Then we wouldn't be held in blackmail when the feds want to force a state to do something like lowering blood alcohol levels, creating seat belt laws or forcing states to participate in E-checks for automobiles. I would love that kind of liberty from these control freaks.
It's too bad our founders never foreseen this dependency on our federal government and federal blackmail. I guess they assumed that freedom from a centralized government would always be desired by a free people. And look at us now. 17 trillion in the hole and half of the country dependent on the feds. It's a real shame.
The framers of the Constitution never could've viewed this nation as becoming a super-power with all its diversity. They were too stupid and ignorant of future events and swift movements. At best those angry old azz white men didn't have a clue what the future held.....and even now, we don't have a clue either about what the future holds. Move along little doggy as you chase the tin can down the road.

Our Founders did foresee the corruption of government. They demanded that the armed citizenry intercede and overthrow the corruption, once it started. They said it was our patriotic duty. What they didn't foresee was the wholesale prostitution of what used to be an industrious, energetic society. They were so proud to have achieved the right of self determination, they couldn't imagine any American would so blithely trade that right for a monthly check from Uncle Sam.
What can be expected from a mob of greedy azz white ppl.. Most if not all of the framers of the Constitution were slave owners. They were rich and had no desire to uplift and motivate an enslaved ppl. to make it on their own. They were only concerned about making money from the hard and deadly labor of slaves. Looking at the Constitution......it wasn't meant to keep white ppl. from making money but to reinforce whites faulty idea that whites were the only race inherently designated by God to control everything and everybody. So.....if anything gets messed up or be out of control you better look at the governane of the white man. Yeah....i blame you know who!!!!!!!!!!

Kasich and his allies LIED!!!!!!!!!! They got the money and didn't tell y'all they got it. Do some checking you idiot......bet'cha OH got more than you imagined.

As the quote goes, the larger the government--the smaller the citizen, and now thanks to this Socialist in office, we are going to have the largest government we've ever had. Oh how soon you buffet rats forget......Reagan said "bigger is better." He is the one that started this takeouver crap. He is the one that encouraged union busting. He is the one that made moves to curtail the advancement of the middle class. He is the one that pitched for a mass exodus of American jobs...... for better profitablility overseas. He is the one that embraced Communist Russia to "tear down these walls." He is the one that started the downward trajectory of the USA. What has the white man offered that we should trade in our happiness and soul for a chance to live beside your azzes? All we've gotten from you white devils is a bunch of shyt, pain and misery. States can option out of following federal mandates, as so States have optioned out of expanding medicaid for ACA.

When Medicare and Medicaid were enacted southern states as they are now optioned out of participation of that program for a while.

Maybe you aren't to familiar with how your government operates because you are absolutely incorrect with your assumptions on State participation with federal laws. Only when States refuse to distribute laws equally in a State will the Federal Government act with deliberate actions to enforce participation. Such as refusing to admit minorities to public facilities such as schools and hospitals.

Whether a state wants to participate or not has not reflection on the Federal Government tax collection on it's citizens who participate in the nation's economic endeavors.

You maybe a resident of Ohio, but you are first a citizen of the United States of America and it's because of your citizenship that the federal government has an obligation to ensure you have the pursuit to liberty and happiness and security.

To believe that this is an administration that expands the government you would have to ignore the expansion by the Republicans just for the Department of Homeland Security that saw the federal workforce expanded by 1.5 Million people.

Alone, since Obama has been President outside the hiring freeze the federal workforce has been trimmed by 92,000 employees a year.

another example is the expansion in the Department of Defense Spending, the money allocated on Military built up comes to 800 Billion annually, a dramatic increase from the 400 Billion in 2001.

People are much more aware of what's going on now as opposed to what was going on behind closed doors of the Bush administration who financed the additional trillions spent in Iraq and in Afghanistan off the books.

The Economy was flushed down the toilet in 2007 that lasted until 2009, the Bush Bailouts and TARP was an obvious sign of America having collapsed under the rule of Republican priorities in the same way that the Russians went broke chasing the Taliban in Afghanistan. s

it's for that reason among others on the domestic front that the Republican idea and politics in America are flatly rejected and their brand is tarnished. Without changing the rules in states with Republican State legislators they changed the rules and gerrymandered congressional districts to ensure a majority in the house of representatives, and even despite that the democrats in 2012 won 8 seats in the house and 2 seats in the Senate and Obama walked away with another landslide victory.

FOX is at it again....according to Megan Kelly, Santa is white and it makes no sense to change his color. She not only said that....but also reminded the sleeping kids that Jesus was white too. Imagine that if you will. Thats what happens when your children are homeschooled and attend a Catholic daycare.

Agencies that were created under a republican administration are the, Dept. of Commerce, the FDA, the Commodities Exchange Auth., FCC, the FDA, the EPA, OSHA, ATF, Federal Energy Admin., DEA, Atomic Energy Comm., Pension and Welfare Admin., to name a few. The stupid party isn't any different than the democrat party is from my perspective. Neither limit federal power.

One of those gerrymandered districts was created to get rid of Allan West, one of their own. Now they have Grayson. They don't call it the stupid party for nothing.:-)

Over the course of American history those who champion for limited federal power are those who crave a means to manipulate the laws of the land and get away from the values of America so far as equal access and enforcement.

The Federal Government has an obligation to ensure the welfare of it's citizens and enforce the laws that result in law and order in society.

This is the reason the republicans at every chance delay the adoption of Agency secretaries to enforce policy and laws designed to maintain access, peace and stability throughout society.

America could not survive being a nation of 300 million with no law and order and big fish eating the little fish. We would take on an image of medieval Europe with Feudal Lords and a return to serfdom. Or a society similar to Afghanistan today.

You're no slave and this isn't the 17th century. 600,000 white people died to free blacks from Democrat southern gentlemen. You now have a black President. All should be well. But it's not enough. It'll never be enough. Without conflict, there aren't any victims. Without victims, there's no special rights. Without special rights.......there's equality.
