Political Correctness to To The Extreme

I am tired of the seemingly endless controversy over the name of the Washington "Red Skins" After all the color of a native American Indian is red as the name of our skin can be white, red, black, yellow, etc. We now even refer to balding men as "skin heads". The term here is not derogatory but only a statement of fact. The Indians skin from which they borrowed the term was red in color. That is it and that should be the end of the matter. I do not object to being called "white" because that is my actual skin color.
More importantly I feel is an issue that has always been troubling to me and that it seems to be an act of discrimination when it comes to the selection of dolls. Their skin always seems to be white. In fact this Christmas I went shopping for a present for a very young black girl I know, and wanted to find a black doll but could not find a one in all the stores I looked. I know if this child had a choice she would rather have a doll the color of her skin so she could relate to it as blacks relate to each other. If a child felt discriminated against this to me would be a call to action by the NAACP, ACLU and other rights oriented organizations
Even when I was a child and went to department stores with my grandmother I was struck by the fact there were no black dolls back then and certainly thought by now the problem would have been corrected.
I really think these people who feel so upset about the mere name of a football team for a term used that simply denotes the color of the skin of the heroes whose name they portray should really do something realistic and anti-discriminatory that would really help the innocent of us to feel their race is just as much important and not to be put down as the value of our race is to us. Come on ACLU lead the charge!
