The victim didn't die. This wasn't murder. I am sure that kid didn't know how serious the crime was when he did it. He deserves to be in juvenille detention, not adult prison. He is only going to come out a hardened criminal.

20 years for attempted capital murder, 15 for aggravated malicious wounding and 10 for robbery. Sounds a little light to me but when (if) he gets out he wont be much of a threat. He has found a happy home among his peers and on the bright side, he will probably be married within a week.

Forty-five years sounds pretty good to me. I wish criminals in Hampton Roads were sentenced just as harshly. If this crime happened in our neck of the woods, the perp would have most likely only been charged with maiming or something weak like that.

He had already been to juvie and see how well that served both him and the community? End his life NOW- no more chances. Set an example to others who may think of such a crime !! 45 years behind bars is not enough.

F____N Scum! Should be put to death immediately. No 45 years living it up in prison while his victim spends the rest of his life scarred and afraid of what life holds next. Too bad we don't have the eye for an eye punishment like they do in some countries. I'd personally cut this animals throat!

He is only going to come out a hardened criminal. I'm thinking that anyone with a child in JD, would not want this animal sharing a room with him. Bottom line: If you're correct in your assertion that JD is a rehabilitative facility for our young people whose mistaken values are reverseable, then why would you want to jeopardize that rehabilitation by their introduction to someone who slashed the throat of someone who was lying down in a submissive position? HG: You're taking a bit of heat here because, once again you're writing irrational conclusions and corrective measures for what are barbaric acts of terrible violence. Imagine what it must have been like for that guy who got slashed. The fear he must have felt as he lay there hoping that he would not be injured. This was a terrible crime, beyond comprehension committed y someone who needs to be isolated from people who are, or have the potential to be good people. This kid is a monster.
