"None Essential Employees" Hmm

I am getting tired of hearing the words, "non-essential employees" being bantered around by government officials dealing with the numerous shutdowns in government operations due to the budget cuts. Well, why in the first place these "non-essential" employees would be allowed to remain in government when if their services weren't "essential" while the budget continues to spiral out of control is something I simply cannot understand in the running of any business operation. Corporate and private businesses set the example on how to run a business operation. They simply MUST STAY IN THEIR BUDGET to operate. Anything that goes over budget must be eliminated and that includes employees, particularly those they consider non-essential.

I know this fact is hard to accept by those government employees know receiving furlough notices, but fair is only fair. Why should government employees be considered a privileged class over corporate employees in the real business world? Thousands upon thousands of these workers receive pink slips every month and they are forced to accept the fact their company no longer considers their services "essential" in the running of their business operations.

It is high time to bring wild government spending under control. Government must cut our every bit of spending waste they can, even including reducing the number of employees on their payroll. I wish some corporate leaders, like those who run Food Lion which is one of the tightest run companies in America, could take over the reins of government spending. Our budget would be brought in line within a matter of months.

This constant mentioning of "non-essential employees" is starting to get under my skin to the point I have called my members of Congress demanding such employees immediately and permanently be fired. I know this is a rough choice but we can no longer keep kicking the can down the road. It is time for government to realize it is no longer a privileged class far above the people. Our government was meant to be a public servant, not a master. The Republicans have finally set the stage for something positive to force the government to be accountable to our citizens, shaking the citizenry into action, which thus far has been too long to achieve. If a solution is not reached by October 17th then our people will finally wake up and have the resolve to make our leaders tow the line or throw them out (I prefer the latter). When we no longer can receive our SS, veteran's checks, Medicare and Medicaid benefits and millions are thrown out of work because of what this impact will have on our economy, they will finally start the fight to get things right in the District of Corruption.

It is a shame that our people have been so lethargic in getting the job done and then putting the same people in over and over again causing these problems get worse than better. For starters in dealing with this budget situation I have contacted my congressional delegation demanding that all "non-essential" employees be immediately terminated. I hope others will do the same. The savings would be enormous considering our Federal employees run into the hundreds of thousands. I know this is not an easy decision to make because of the suffering involved with the layoffs but our government must operate on a budget and do what corporate America does when they cannot meet budget expectations.
