Oh BALONEY!!! The storm was obviously coming. All you had to do was turn on the television like every parent in Chesterfield County did. The truth is that the school erred in favor of sending the students to school so they could collect the state money that is tied to attendence hours. Period. Nowhere have the County folks come clean about that all-important factor that motivates their decisions. Do they think we're stupid or just uninformed?

I agree one hundred percent. All of the local schools except Hanover that was all ready closed was worried about the bottom line. Regardless of what they say it was a bad decision. No excuses. I was up at 5:30am the weather man was saying the same thing at 7:30am this was going to be bad and it was coming towards the Metro area. To wait that long to cancel or turn busses around was ignorant.

Of course the road cruise said that the roads were fine at 3:30am nothing had started. Did they look at the TV or did the schools systems call the counties directly to the west to ask them what was going on. Common sense, but it is not about that it is about DOLLAR AND CENTS. All three localities should be held liable for any injuries associated with this storm involving children or staff. Then they will be wishing they had thought about this more. Of course they will be thinking about how to wiggle themselves out of the lawsuit soon to follow.

i agree with MMiles, Chesterfield county is all about the money, trying to make there school system better. they didnt think about all the high school students that drive, and nor did they think about the kids that had to walk to their bus stop and stand out there untill there buses came. they just thought about there money.

Is there a reason why most of the other county school systems have made an apology, but not Chesterfield????

Curious as to why Chesterfield has yet to make a public apology for the way things were handled, yet the other counties have????

In everyone's haste to criticize the school system, it is apparent you did not attend Chesterfield schools. Your spelling is awful!
