Congress Does Not Get Pay Raise

Well the taxpayers of this nation get a break as I have learned that taxpayers will not be paying for the so-called pay raise that was scheduled to take place after Obama signed the bill to deal with the debt.

I just received a letter from Eric Cantor, my representative in Congress dated January 14th which reads as follows:

"As you may know, the American Taxpayer Relief act of 2012 (H.R. 8) cancels the scheduled pay increase for Members of Congress. This legislation passed the House by a vote of 257-167 (Roll no. 659) on January 1, 2013. H.R. 8 also passed the Senate and was signed into law by the President on January 2, 2013".

I also checked with his office in D.C. and they confirm it is TRUE!

I hope that my letter of vehement protest along with others quickly made them change their mind.

As a fellow taxpayer and voter, I thank you and all who wrote letters, emails and called our "representatives" to protest this stupidity.

Don't cheer yet...the sneaky azz rethugs will find a way of getting around the taxpayers eyeballs.
