Has anyone stopped to think maybe this was a real Law Enforcement Officer? The Police stop people all the time then take off onto a hotter call for service.

I doubt it seriouly, especially if the guy was wearing a black baseball cap with a brown polo shirt. Plus, there'd be a dispatch log.

People are forgetting: Sheriff's deputies also are authorized to make traffic stops. Usually, when they do, its just to give a warning because they saw a minor traffic violation. And I'm not sure they always radio the stop in either (although they should). Who knows, this could've been a deputy on his way from work in the jail. Its possible.

brown polo shirt with black pants? Someone arrest this man! He's committed a crime against fashion!:)

On a serious note, this is creepy and I hope Chesterfield PD find this guy. Heaven only knows what would have happened to the woman if she *had* gotten out of her car.

This is why we all need to carry a concealed weapon with permit. If this guy stopped me he would have a .38 in his face while I called 911.

In Chesterfield County the traffic laws and criminal laws are enforced by the Chesterfield County Police Department The difference between a sheriff and police dept. is the jurisdiction where in some of the Virginia county you only have a Sheriff department that enforces both the civil and criminal Laws. By Law your Sheriff department where Brown/Tan Uniforms. In Chesterfield County it is rare for a sheriff deputy to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation without calling for police officer back up 1st so to say that this was an off duty deputy sheriff I think not. It sounds more like a Law Enforcement want-a-be preying on the women and men in Chesterfield County. Please to the public beware of everyone with a blue light, a badge and uniform are not the police. When in doubt never stop in a dark place, make sure it has lights, know your county, city or state police uniform color, when in doubt drive slow to let police know you are not running from them, you can always go to the closes police precinct or sub-station and if you will not stop they will call for assistant from other officers. Never get out of your vehicle and roll the window down enough to speak to officer this will protect you in the event it is not the police, and the police should understand why you did this.

Always beware of your surrounding and the name and description of the officer or person stopping you. Stay Safe

You know it could have been a sheriff or an undcover cop that was trying to do something to this lady. I had the same thing happen to me in Henrico County. I was 19 just got a brand new car. Driving down the road and the next thing i do is look up and see flashing light. Well I was very hesitant to pull over becuase it was dark out. I made my way to a neighborhood where it was very well lit. He got out of his car and came to my passenger side window and was being very weird towards me. I felt very uncomfortable and then he started raising his voice at me. Not to mention the fact that he never told me why he pulled me over. So my parents called henrico county after I got home I was smart enough to get his badge number and so they checked his log because they told us that they are supposed to keep a log of any stops that they make. Well come to find out the police office never logged my call in. So me and my parents had to go in a speak with him and his supervisor on to why he pulled me. He said because I had 30 day tags on my car and he wanted to check to make sure it was legit..Whatever..it's sad that you can not even trust the law enforcment There are some sick sick people out here!!!!

A REAL law enforcement officer would have identified himself/herself and fully explained why the stop was made. And he/she would have followed thru with the purpose of the traffic stop and not left to answer another call, as the emergency communications center would already have that officer marked out as being on a traffic stop. That guy was merely an imposter, no doubt about it.
