They should use the money to "re-hire" all the 1st year teachers that no longer have jobs next year...its crazy you have people who WANT to teach and cant even get a job that is in demand....crazy

So your the one that rather not fork over money for schools? You think I like putting money into social security knowing that it probably won't be there when I can use it? No I don't like it but I just grin and bear it. There will always be taxes so you might as well get over it.
i never said that, read before speaking. I said that if there was a surplus, the taxpayers were overtaxed, and should be refunded the money.
Its easier to raise taxes than control spending is the government way

Is it possible that the school district cut back on some spending to have this surplus? I could careless for a low refund, I would rather see the money go to next year to save first year teacher jobs.

Not all people have plenty of money that you have, i would prefer to have the overtaxed amount refunded to pay for my increase in personal property tax.

Instead of giving teachers pay raises..keep on staff that is going to be laid off. Keep programs that are going to be cut. Yes pay raises are nice, but so is my children's education.
It is "one time money", not money that will continue to be there. You can't keep staff if there is no money to pay them.
