Should we pay off our car because we can?My husband's getting his re-enlistment bonus and its enough to pay off our car. We've not been making payments that long cause we just bought it in October. It was REALLY hard for us to get the car because we had no credit history and no one wanted to give us the money. My dad thinks we should keep making the payments to improve our credit history (our credit score is perfect just no history) but we'd really like to pay it off. We can also pay off everything else one credit card with less then $500 due on it, no over due payments or anything like that , and one simple interest loan we took out so that we could get someone to give us the money for the car its also less then $500 as well. we'd have about 600 a month back in our pockets if we do this, but we don't wanna mess ourselves up in the long run.
So just wanna know if we should suck it up and make the payments or pay it off in one lump some and have the extra money back each month?
