Why don't the police get help from truck drivers?? We see this ALL day long-EVERY DAY!!! People do not realize just how dangerous this is. It puts their life at risk along with everyone else that is on the road with them. Truck drivers would have the 911 lines completely tied up if we were to call in and report these idiots!!!!

I'll it took 3 college graduates to figure this out.

If there is no real penalty, the law will have no more effect than speed limits.

Execute the next moron that causes a death because they were texting while driving and watch how fast the numbers drop.

I don't fines will work. If caught "texting while driving" they should be taken to the courthouse, met the magistrate and punishment decided. I thinking 5 lashes with a cat-o-nine would be a good start. Penalty is doubled each time you are caught. Also apply to excessive speeders and drunk drives.

Telling these MORONS not to text while driving is useless. They think they are the only ones who can "handle it"; just like a drunk driver.

Personally, I think it should be the same punishment as driving under the influence. And ya'll don't give me this crap of turning off the heater or popping in a CD without looking at it. It takes a heck of a lot more attentionn and time to TEXT than it does the aforementioned activities.

It's really pathetic when otherwise smart people decide to do something so STUPID and dangerous.

I think cell phones should be outlawed period. Why do people think they have to talk to someone while driving? Why can't they wait until they are out of the car. People think they are so important as soon as they get in the car they have to call someone

Sorry, I don't agree. I don't believe in banning anything. It makes it more attractive. Those who really want something will try to get it anyway.

Plus I don't know whether anyone else is noticing this, but we as Americans seem to have this attitude lately of punishing the majority for the minority's problems. Instead of punishing the guilty one, we punish all the innocent ones by taking every thing away from them.

Cell phones are very useful. It's the people that use them that are stupid sometimes. Unfortunately, it SEEMS the majority don't seem to have the sense to use things properly. Take the cell for example. Instead of simple communication, they have to have everything on it along with the RESPONSIBILITIES that go with it; for example the camera. Digressing, I found the cell to be MOST irritating when I was taking a higher math class that was a challenge to me and I went to the campus LIBRARY where it was supposed to be quiet to study. Unfortunately the gutless librarian didn't have the courage to tell a yackity group of GIRLS to take their phone conversations elsewhere in consideration for those that wanted to actually STUDY. Me, I wanted to go and sit next to them and participate in their conversation, HOPING it would chase them away. Looking back, I should have done it.

Problem is NOT with the phones; it's with the SELFISH, INCONSIDERATE, people who use them.

With 'freedom' comes responsibility; or you won't have the freedom long. It should be plenty obvious to folks by now.

it shouldnt be a law, it should just be common sense... people just think they're invincible and they aren't. It's one of those things that makes me say "Wooooww..."
