Debate ignites over development plans near park
The lines are drawn in Maryland Heights between supporters of a large, mixed-use development that they call vital to the city's future and critics who contend it would spoil the view from Creve Coeur Park.

WAKE UP PEOPLE! I am just as for convenient shopping as anyone else but let's think about the consequences of "Parcel A" for a moment - if you've ever been to the creve coeur park soccer fields on a warm summer night - with a nice view of the farm fields as the sun sets - now replace that view of the fields with something akin to Chesterfield crossings shopping center, with it's very bright parking lot lights, six lanes of traffic. HOW 'BOUT THIS: if we can just develop parcel A ON THE OTHER SIDE of the Maryland Heights expressway it would alleviate everyone's concerns.. just move the "bright stuff" further away. Maryland Heights should support RESPONSIBLE development that does not infringe (in any way) upon what little green space we have left...

Yes Bubu, we do not need a "Chesterfield" in our Park or near our Park. Hopefully the farming families that own the rest of the agricultural acreage, that the land stays with the
family. This will enable then to continue their livelihood in Mrylnd Hts MO.
