My mother was a Navy Medic in World War II and she told that when she and her best friend returned home from the Pacific after
caring for wounded troops, they went to stay at a nice hotel, for a well deserved holiday. When they arrived at the hotel, they were turned away, for Mom's best friend was Jewish. My Mother wanted me to remember the past mistakes of America, sadly bigotry has reared it's ugly head once again. When will American's speak out for the concerns of all humanity!

PARKWAY WEST IS NOT THE PLACE TO SEND YOUR KIDS, UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO BE MEAN, OR YOU WANT THEM TO BE MADE FUN OF. THE SCHOOL IS FULL OF "I HAVE MONEY" PARENTS TRYING TO OUT DO EACH OTHER INSTEAD OF TEACHING THEIR KIDS TOLERANCE, AND THE VALUE OF SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE DOLLAR.

I wonder what the reason was behind it? Was it hatred of jews or some political stunt to push the boundaries of freedom of speech, or just some stupid inner-circle joke? Or maybe they were rebelling at the constant american philosophy/doctrine that jews and israel are our betters? I like how we only get to read less than half of one sides' story........

You know what I see is a "GREEN EYED MONSTER" with jealousy that hasn't a clue as to what they
are talking about.

Parkwest is a great school, they have wonderful teachers. We're so mean that we invite kids from the city, who have no school into our own school, really mean, hu.

I went to Pattonville High School not Parkway West, but I have many friends that went to Parkway West. They are good people, nothing like what you describe.(again you don't know what your talking about).

We may have a little more money out here, but at least our kids aren't stealing and killing.

This was an innocent joking game by 11 & 12 year olds. I was told that one student tapped a kid and said ha ha your jewish, kind of like Ha ha your wearing blue today. These kids don't know the rules of what we can joke about and what we can't. Thy are 11 & 12 year olds trying to fit in at just entering middle school. They did not see the harm it did, but they understand now. You the people, the media have scorned these little kids. Last sunday I went to church with my daughter and my husband, during the gospel (the word of God) the word Jew is used all the time. My daughter asked what the big deal was about saying Jew, if it is alright with God to say it, then why was it so bad in this incident. I explained that some people, like to blow thing out of proportion just for the spot light & attention.

My oppinion is "PARKWAY WEST SCHOOL ROCKS"

More than Meets te eye-

I think you're making a gross generalization about the population of Parkway West Middle School. Went there (many years ago), and yeah - I didn't have the greatest time in the world. Please show me someone who absolutely loves middle school.

Yes, there are some parents that try to flaunt their wealth. Yes, some are in a pissing contest between their neighbors over who can drive the newest SUV. But it is by no means all.

I come from a family of modest but comfortable means. I lived in West County almost my entire life, leaving to attend college. During my time in college I've really appreciated the skills, both academic and social, that I learned attending Parkway schools. I learned so much from my area of West County - the merits of charity, hard work, and altruism. I was taught and firmly believe that those who have the means to help other people also have the responsibility to help other people. Furthermore, I believe that Parkway West Middle helped prepare me for four years at Parkway West High - where many of my fondest memories lie and I was inspired to become a school teacher.

To sum up - there are jerks everywhere, but there are also really nice and caring people all around you. Don't lump them all together based on what public school they go to.

---
By the way - I was saddened to hear that this had happened. Unfortunately the entire Parkway West Community - parents, fellow students, and teachers - won't be able to talk about their school without this coming to mind for quite some time.

I am not sure what world you are living in, but as a Parkway Parent and alumni of the district I can attest to the fact that although the students may not be perceived by their parents as mean, they do act as if they are better than others because they may be in a family with a higher income level. The first thing people from St. Louis ask others from this area is "Where did you go to high school?" Let's not be stupid. Noone asks because they are wondering if the person is from their own school, but to label them based upon their family's income level when they were in high school. Students in Parkway associate West and Central with money and North and South as those below them. As for the comment on "at least our kids aren't stealing or killing," well why don't you go through the records in Parkway because I seem to remember an announcement over the intercom system explaining about the shooting at Parkway South where a student took a gun to school shot a couple of students and then turned the gun on himself, a presence of guns at a Friday Night pep rally at Parkway North, a drug bust at Parkway West, and a beating that occured with students from Northeast Middle.

Drugs, beatings, bullying, hatred, killing, and stealing are everywhere and in every district. Parkway just has the means to cover it up better. As for the incident at Parkway West Middle--parents like you that view these types of incidents as "no big deal" are those that breed students that show up in the news like at Columbine. You probably feel the girl who was beaten and the video showed up on You Tube deserved it and I feel sorry for the children you influence in life.

How ignorant you must be believing that saying to someone "ha ha you're a Jew" is the same as "ha ha you're wearing blue." Parents who condone this are telling their children it is alright to ridicule or put down someone because of their race or religion. My son is 4 years old and knows not to ridicule or make derrogatory comments about someone who is different from them. Middle school students who do not know right from wrong by now have parents who have no values themselves in their home.

And by the way, don't be so self-righteous about "allowing" the city students to attend your school. You mention that in a tone that makes it seem they should kiss the ground you walk on for so graciously allowing them to be in your school.

Grow up and start doing your job as a parent.

This is the kind of parent that does NOT have a child at Parkway that is mean and cruel. This parent can actually be proud of the job they ae doing, and not regret the "mistakes" in raising their "innocent game children".
Thank you for speaking out as well. I am, tired
of the constant games played at this school district where the kids are extremely cruel, and the parents and school board do nothing to try and make any type of change.
