Too bad CCPS has been so poorly mismanaged for years. I hope they learn from not having prudently & conservatively managed the system.

Closing Perrymount is a very bad decision for these kids and the future of Chesterfield County. If we don't teach these at risk teens how to become productive citizens now, we will end up paying to house many of them in our jail system. Better to meet their needs now than when they enter our correctional system.

Close the Govenor's School.. those kids will do fine in their home schools.. It won't affect them one bit! At risk kids needs extra support but the kids at the Govenor's school will do fine where ever they are at!

We are spending more on education NOW than ever before in our nation's history; and the education the United States is losing ground in education.
Among adults age 25 to 34, the U.S. is ninth among industrialized nations in the share of its population that has at least a high school degree.
By both measures, the United States was first in the world as recently as 20 years ago.
Money does not make the difference. Our new wave of liberal-leaning teachers and social methods of ego-inflating education has not made the difference. More and better buildings have not made the difference.
Who is benefitting? The techer's unions. It's about liberal socialism and money.
What should we do? We could start by returning to a socially conservative approach to life and government; personal accoutability starting at home; modeling our lives after and having faith in a just, fair and decent God.
Will we? No, I don't think we will. Once a society has gone down the dark and slippery path of indulgence, it usually does not have the will to climb out of the morass.
What do we do and esp. about these kids? I guess we will spend the money. But,watch what happens when you educate a kid when they become an adult after they have been taught at home to live a "certain lifestyle". THEY BECOME VERY GOOD AT THAT "certain lifestyle".
For ex: A child who is taught at home that 'stealing is OK in some instances' who then gets an accounting or banking degree is bound to be VERY SUCCESSFUL at plying his/her trade!
Just look at our government and our big business in America, over the last 10 years and esp. now-a-days!
We didn't need all the special attention to schools like Perrymount when the social emphasis was on living honestly and decently.
