I notice that no one is talking about upgrading the rail lines before the high speed rail comes through. My late grandaddy who has been gone 21 years and he said himself before he died that if they wanted to do any sort of high rail system in the United States, the tracks would need to be torn up and relaid first otherwise there would be a rail accident unlike anything ever seen before. And he was a N&S and Amtrak engineer for over 40 years and knew the lines in Virginia well. Hope they take this into consideration before they start anything. If they don't upgrade the lines, you won't see me on a train.
