Chester Couple Gets Money Returned - wtvr

"It's just been a big headache" says Tim Canar. But now that headache's gone. We recently introduced you to Tim and Stephanie Canar who, after falling on tough times and enduring a layoff, made an arrangement with the IRS to pay off a nearly four hundred dollar bill.

I'm so glad to see the whole issue was worked out. In these sink-or-swim times, we're all barely keeping our heads above water. I'm grateful the IRS did the right thing in returning their money. There was no need to make a bad situation worse.

What exactly do you mean by your last statement? These people did not seek money to be given to them. They just wanted the IRS to do the right thing. Your statement was out of line and I hope if you ever get into a jam that no one does help because you need to suffer.

[just a piece of advice]

A word to the wise. Make a photocopy copy of the front and back of the voided check. Instead of mailing the check in, take it to the local IRS office in the Federal Bldg, 400 N 8th St, Richmond, and MAKE SURE YOU GET THAT OFFICE TO GIVE YOU A RECIPT FOR IT.

I'm so glad everything has worked out for the best. As per the comment about being careful, heed that advice. Make double sure that you keep all receipts and documentation or you may be looking at unnecessary fines from the IRS.
