VDot needs to look at that area of the road. There have been many crashes there, this implies that there is a problem with the road condition. I am also very sure all would like to come down hard on the driver as he does have some responsibility in this however he is not the only one who has crased there. VDot also has a responsibility to make roads safe. What is all of that toll money for?

I drive the area daily and there is nothing wrong with the exit if you comply with the posted speed. Signs are clearly posted warning truckers of the danger of tipping on the curve.

As to the comment about the toll money, there are no tolls on 95 or 288 at this time.

The drivers need to slow down and follow the speed limits. That is what they are posted for.

VDOT did their job when the ramp was designed and it works well IF YOU FOLLOW THE POSTED SPEED!

You canít expect VDOT to build ramps so stupid drivers donít wreck.(That is called a train track)

The tractor trailer driver apparently has a speeding problem. On March 7th in North Carolina he wrecked another tractor trailer in which he was hauling cows. In that accident 35 cows died. See the below link, scroll to page 2 and the article can be viewed on page 3A of the Sanford Herlad paper.
