I had the great honor to honor one of the Freindship Nine Mr. Mack Workman on May of 2004 in New York City at the 7th annual "Civil Rights Remembrance Day" Mr Workman's sharing of his experiences in the movement was a most moving one for all who attended. Some at the event were reunited for the first time in more than forty-three years. We all were from Orangeburg, South Carolina. I am the visionary of CRRD which pays homage to pioneers of the South Carolina civil rights movement of the sixties.

I am very sad to the passing of Hon. Matthew J. Perry Jr. He will be deeply missed. Judge, Perry was the keynote speaker for Civil Rights Remembrance Day in May of 1997,at Trinity United Methodist Church in Orangeburg, South Carolina. This commemoration brought together some poineers for the first time in more than thirty years. They were so thrilled to see Perry so was I for the first time.He quickly became my hero. His memory and legacy will be remembered through this work for which I am in process of getting published. I am a native of Orangeburg and the visionary of Civil Rights Remembrance Day.
