Salary for the people who serve you...

Hi! I am new to Rock Hill from a major city in the south. I was lucky enough to obtain a job at a local (highly respected) restaurant. I have been in the restaurant business for twenty years. I have worked fine dining, diners, bars, etc... I am great at what I do. However, I,(as well as my fellow co-workers) have never experienced the lack of tipping that I have since I have been here. I know that the people who read this are going to comment about my service, but I assure you, that is not the issue. I am starting this discussion because I think the general public may not realize the people in this industry make $2.13 an hour. If you do not tip, I do not eat. I have no children and very few bills, my expenses are low and I still cannot afford to live. I hope you take this into consideration the next time you decide to dine out. Thanks!
