I too was shocked by Dr. Hamlin's passing.
Since his passing, i have been seeing Dr. Jane Sofair in Morristown and can assure you, she is excellent.
I was thinking of calling her...thank you for your input

Great in his simplicity, Dr. Hamlin's character was unique in ways that should have been common for those in the medical field but, sadly, are not. He was selfless, patient, tireless, the consumate advocate and a brilliant representative of his chosen profession. Without ever breaching professional etiquette, he became a member of our family - someone who was always there, forever had your best interest at heart and never, ever let you down. He was a true humanitarian and with his passing, health care has lost a noble ambassador.
In our lives, he is a standard to be met.
In our hearts, he is irreplaceable.
As difficult as it might be, are you able to recommend anyone who might be there inDr. Hamlin's place?

There are so many times I miss you. Your kindness and caring could get me through any crisis. I expect that there will always be crisis like this weekend in my life that will cause me to miss you even more. You taught me so much, got me through so many horrible times, I am so grateful for all that you did for me. But not having you around at times like this is hard.

After the death of Dr. Hamlin, our family was told of a Doctor Wolf in Morristown New Jersey who, after several meetings, suggested that we consult a Columbia physician. The reason that he did this was that he would have had to have read publications by the other doctor to get up to speed with this particular area of interest. Frankly, I respect him for that. We were fortunate in that the NYC doctor was willing to take on the case himself and our loved one has been meeting with him on a weekly basis since October. The doctor certainly does not shy from prescribing medications, but is not a psychopharmacologist. Here is an address to his info on the Columbia website. He has an office there and on Long Island :
http://asp.cumc.columbia.edu/facdb/profile_li...

On that page is also a link to his own webpage that is a CV.

I do not know if he is taking on new patients or if his area is appropriate for you, but I wish you well.

Really missing Dr. Hamlin today. It's almost a year since his passing. Every time I experience a success (thanks to his meds) I can hardly wait to tell him and then I realize... Did I ever thank him enough when he was here? There's no replacing such a kind soul.
