shops in Chester

I was in blu-violet the other day and it was not a pleasant experience. The woman (I guess she's the owner) was very unprofessional. I guess she doesn't think customer can here her talking on the phone. What she was talking about was too inappropriate to even mention here. I was in another time as well where there was something similar going on with someone who worked at another shop. Chester is an upscale town and I would prefer to shop where the owners do not act like children. I don't think blu-violet has anything that interesting or out of the ordinary worth going in for.

I have to strongly disagree with the above comment. I always have a pleasant shopping experience in Bluviolet.

Blu-Violet is actually one of my favorite shops in Chester - whenever I visit that town, I make sure that I stop in there because the items they sell are so unique.

Also, the owner has given me great help in picking out gifts for all occassions.

Needless to say, I am quite shocked by your comments considering my own wonderful experiences there.

Are you sure you haven't mistaken it for another shop, perhaps Blue Tulip?

WTF? Obviously, that shopper had a bee up his bonnet! Sure the owner likes to dish, who doesn't? But, that a shopper took the time to write something here says more about him/her than Blu-Violet. Blu-Violet rocks! It's one of my favorite shops - not just in Chester -- but anywhere. If I can't find what I'm looking for, the owner goes out of her way to source it for me. Now, THAT'S service! And, she's always playing some rocking tunes so she makes picking up a gift for my mom/nephew/hostess, whatev, fun! Rock on, B-V!

I don't normally post comments but in this case I will because I have been in this store several times and have always gotten great service and wonderful gifts. I do feel for the shopowners in general for I have worked in the retail industry for over 25 years and know how hard it is to run your buisness and have a customer come in and take a bad mood out on you and your merchandise.
Smaller retailers don't seem to get the respect for what they are trying to achieve especially in todays economy. Just the other day I came across and article on how to haggle a better price in a small boutique. I was astonished to read this. People wake up and understand that small boutiques are not outfitted the same as larger retailers. The reason most of shop at boutiques is for the one on one service and there unique gift selection. It's insulting to everyone when you barter on something that is already 60% off. It's a fact a retailer loses money when they mark it down. I hope that Blu-violet doesn't lose sleep over the above comment. They bring a sense of style to Chester that adds to the charm of the town.-Your loyal customer
