Polar vortex — or ice age?
03/24/2014

Record-low temperatures, so much snow that municipalities are running out of salt, and one “polar vortex” after another. What’s going on? Where is the global warming we were warned about?

The temperature of the planet has not risen for the past seventeen years.

The climate models that were supposed to project “climate change”(global warming) on the basis of man made carbon dioxide emissions have failed. The Climategate scandal gave us a glimpse of a corrupt scientific establishment scrambling to cover up that failure.

Instead, a different set of predictions is turning out to be true. The hard science that accurately predicts future climate trends is based not on alarmism about human activity; as a matter of fact, the entire C02 output of industry and modern transportation since the Industrial Revolution has actually resulted in a wholly beneficial warming of less than one degree Fahrenheit. These predictions show the behavior of the sun is the real driver of major climate changes.

Putin Calls Obama to Discuss Ukraine, White House Says

I'm glad Obama is putting Putin's nuts in a scrotum clamp.

Putin is scared of Obama, why else the phone call

WASHINGTON — President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia reached out to President Obama on Friday to discuss ideas about how to peacefully resolve the international standoff over Ukraine, a surprise move by Moscow to pull back from the brink of an escalated confrontation that has put Europe and much of the world on edge.

After weeks of provocative moves punctuated by a menacing buildup of troops on Ukraine’s border, Mr. Putin’s unexpected telephone call to Mr. Obama offered a hint of a possible settlement. The two leaders agreed to have their top diplomats meet to discuss concrete proposals for defusing the crisis that has generated the most serious clash between Russia and the West since the end of the Cold War.

Thanks Barack !!!!!!

For not sending our soldiers in there to come home in body bags like we did in Iraq.

NYT reporter: Obama administration the ‘greatest enemy of press freedom’ in a generation
03/24/2014

New York Times reporter James Risen called the Obama administration “the greatest enemy of press freedom that we have encountered in at least a generation” on Friday, explaining that the White House seeks to control the flow of information and those that refuse to play along “will be punished.”

Poynter reports that Risen made the remarks while speaking at Sources and Secrets conference — a meeting of journalism and communication professionals held in New York City. The foreign policy reporter, who is currently fighting a fierce court battle with the federal government over his protection of a confidential source, warned that press freedom is under serious attack in today’s America.

In a speech kicking off the conference, Risen claimed that the Obama administration wants to “narrow the field of national security reporting” and “create a path for accepted reporting.” Those who stray from that path, he cautioned,“will be punished.”

The result is a “de facto Official Secrets Act,” Risen explained, making the current White House “the greatest enemy of press freedom that we have encountered in at least a generation.” And the media has been “too timid” in pushing back against the onslaught.

Why not just post "I read a tea bagger rag today where they interviewed someone who hates Obama and he said he hates Obama?" It would alleviate the repetition. Daily Caller, Fox News, CSN News, Breitbart, Glenn Beck's websites. They're the same thing everyday. No news. Lots of whining about Obama.

He fixed the economy the GOP destroyed. He ended the illegal wars the GOP lost. He killed the enemies the GOP let play Xbox. He saved the auto industry the GOP wanted to let die. He overhauled the failed healthcare system the GOP wanted to let continue fail.

I understand the whining, but if all you have is the same old bullshit, why not try to... uh... you know... solve a problem?

IPCC runs from claims that global warming will cause mass extinctions
03/24/2014

The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is distancing itself from past claims that global warming could cause mass extinctions.

A leaked IPCC draft report says that there is “very little confidence that the models currently predict accurately the risk of extinction.”

The leaked report, obtained by Germany’s Der Spiegel newspaper, says that an “acute lack of data” have added to doubts over past claims made by climate scientists of mass extinctions in the future.“[B]iological findings have increased doubt over the expected species extinction,” says the IPCC.

In its 2007 climate assessment, the IPCC said that there was a “medium confidence” that 20 to 30 percent of plant and animal species were at risk of going extinct if global temperatures rose between 1.5 and 2.5 degrees Celsius this century. If temperatures rose by 3.5 degrees Celsius the IPCC predicted “significant extinctions” would occur — between 40 and 70 percent of species.

President Obama promised transparency and open government. He failed miserably. So why do Washington watchdog groups look the other way?

President Obama has failed to deliver on few promises as miserably as his vow to create a more transparent and open government. Shortly after being sworn into office, he sent a memo to federal agencies promising,“We will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration.”
...
Whether it’s responding to Congress, media questions, or FOIA requests, this administration is no better than its predecessor. The big difference: Obama is a Democrat. And because he is a Democrat, he’s gotten a pass from many of the civil liberty and good-government groups who spent years watching President Bush’s every move like a hawk.

No government is ever transparent enough for me, but transparency? Really? What happened to IRS SCANDAL! and BENGHAZI! and all the other fake scandals that didn't work? Is this what it's come to?

And by the way, watchdog groups watched Bush like a hawk because he was a war criminal who destroyed the greatest economy in the history of man.

It better be a mental hygiene professional. George Bush is ON VIDEO stating he committed war crimes, and this guy literally says it didn't happen. He epitomizes what happened to the GOP - denial of fact led to denial of reality. That led to them being a powerless fringe group with no chance of ever winning a national election again.

No, New York Times, Requiring Proof of Citizenship to Vote Isn’t ‘Voter Suppression’
March 24, 2014

Last Thursday, the New York Times published a harsh editorial that unfairly condemned a Kansas federal judge for upholding the right of states to require proof of citizenship for individuals registering to vote.

As I explained last week, Judge Eric Melgren ordered the U.S. Election Assistance Commission to change its state-specific instructions for the federal voter registration form to tell any residents of Arizona and Kansas using that form that they will have to comply with the states’ requirement to provide proof that they are U.S. citizens.

The EAC had refused to do so, despite the fact that the Constitution clearly gives states, not the federal government, the ability to set voter qualifications for federal elections.

The Times repeated its constant claim that the purpose of this proof-of-citizenship requirement as well as voter-ID laws is “to keep eligible voters from the polls.”

No, the intent of these laws is to keep ineligible voters from the polls, like the thousands of noncitizens who are illegally registered to vote all over the country.

Obamacare sign-ups now exceed 6 million !!!!!!!!!!

“We are seeing near record numbers of consumers coming to check out their options and enroll in coverage,” Marilyn Tavenner, head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, said in a blog post.

“You can’t say,‘Look, everybody hates the law,’ when you see these big numbers coming in,” said John Holahan, a fellow at the Urban Institute’s Health Policy Center, which has been conducting a series of surveys related to the Affordable Care Act.

College student Fabiola Juarez, 25, signed up for a Bronze plan with Health Net Inc. that costs her $27 a month thanks to a federal premium subsidy. She tried using the state website on her own a couple of months ago but found it too complicated. Then she put off her application until she saw a flier on campus last week advertising enrollment help.

"I'm a student. I tend to procrastinate," said Juarez, who was previously uninsured.

Real estate broker Murphy Richardson, 55, recently picked out a Bronze policy with L.A. Care Health Plan to avoid the penalty for being uninsured. Most Americans must have health insurance starting this year or they face a fine of $95 per adult or 1% of household income, whichever is greater.

Richardson said he lost his previous health coverage a few months ago when he missed a premium payment. That shouldn't be as much of a problem now. He qualified for government assistance based on his income and owes $1 a month for his policy.

The Insiders: Is Obamacare working?
March 28

As we inch toward the March 31 enrollment “deadline,” I think it is fair to ask,“Is Obamacare working?” And by working, I mean both politically for the Democrats and substantively for the country.

White House senior official Dan Pfeiffer tweeted out,“Important to remember that back in Oct and November, everyone thought getting to 6 mil was impossible. Amazing comeback story.” We can discount that; Team Obama’s credibility is shot.

So what do we really know? What does the information available really tell us, and what can we discern from the constant evasiveness of the administration?

Substantively, the administration is refusing to acknowledge a few essential points.

One, the original definition of “success”— the CBO number they adopted as their own — was 7 million enrollees.

And next, an estimated 20 percent of the alleged 6 million enrollees have not paid their premiums, which means they do not actually have insurance.

That leaves us with 4.8 million enrollees at best, without discounting duplicate enrollments, unfinished applications and any other factors that would diminish the number who have actually signed up for Obamacare.
...
After all the insurance cancellations, the administration’s insistence that 6 million people now have insurance because of Obamacare is a lot like firing 20 people, hiring 18 of them back and claiming that you have created 18 new jobs. In other words, nobody knows what the net number of people insured is once you have factored in how many people lost their insurance because of Obamacare.

The “No Obamacare Horror Stories” Fairy Tale
March 24, 2014
For many, suffering under Obamacare is all too real.

“There are plenty of [Obamacare] horror stories being told. All of them are untrue,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid not long ago on the floor of the Senate.

Four years after the president signed the measure into law, there are, of course, many real stories of hardship under Obamacare. An extensive list of which is included at the end of this article.

But when Reid made those remarks, he wasn’t repeating words carelessly dashed off by some 20-something staffer. Rather, he was repeating a meme that has become common among those who economist Thomas Sowell dubs “the Anointed,” intellectuals whose belief in their own superior knowledge and virtue leads to their misperception that they are an anointed elite more qualified to make decisions for the rest of us in order to lead humanity to a better life.

To the over 6 million that are now signing up for Obamacare, you have to add 4 million people gaining coverage through Medicaid expansion; 3 million enrollees in their early 20s who remain on their parents’ policies. The last 2 statistics were as of Jan 7 and need updating. Still over 13 million and increasing have now gotten health insurance through Obamacare. Not Bad,huh?

Now if the dozen and more Republican governors or legislatures would end their foolishness and allow Medicaid expansion, we would be up over 20 million. As Sen. Ted Cruz said before the Republican shutdown of the government, once Obamacare goes forward, it can't be turned back, can it?.

Obamacare sign-ups now exceed 6 million !!!!!!
More than 6 million Americans have signed up for private health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, the White House announced Thursday, reflecting a surge in enrollment after months of technical problems prevented many people from picking a plan.
