seriously though..they fly up cabin creek. I witnessed it for 3 yrs from a front porch. Anybody that says they dont hasnt watched them in cabin creek. Not saying nothing about the medfords, they are good people but their drivers push their limits. You can even tell when they know a cop is on the creek, they'll go under the speed limit lol..you can always tell by the way their running up the creek if the law is out or not.

All I can say is there are more trucking companies out there than Medford! Last week one of the big coal trucks came around the curve East on 60 right at the turn off for coal trucks when you pass Chelyan bridge. He was driving so fast he came in my lane, the load of coal shifted a bit because the truck leaned in my lane! I had to let off the road as much as possible to keep from being hit!!!!

To the comment if they make mistakes the company will correct it. It will be corrected when?? after someone else gets killed?? THEY NEED TO SLOW DOWN. I agree they are just trying to make a living but first and foremost should be safety. If you take a close look at the drivers most of them are really young and most likely do not have alot of experience in driving trucks. It should be mandatory if they are caught speeding they should be terminated. It is all about the money and the loads.

Medford Trucking has some of the most obnoxious drivers I've ever seen. I notice medford truckers driving way too fast on a daily basis. Medford really needs to do away with all the arrogant men that think they're kings of the road because they have a big truck before someone is killed. Back in January a red medford truck came over in my lane, and to make a long story short my car was totaled. The trucker didn't even bother stopping to see if we were okay. I guess that was his way of saving his own butt, and just last week I got cut off by a medford truck who didn't even bother signaling while switching lanes.

anyone inbetween the mine at republic and mammoth coal on 60. i have a message for you. your a bunch of idiots. you cant drive you dont watch your kids and it smells funny up cabin creek. one of your children are going to end up dead. i came up cabin creek a few weeks ago and seen with my own eyes 2 little girls tring to dig out a trench by the driveway. they were between 7 and 10 years old STANDING ON THE WHITE LINE with shovels digging. yall pull out in front of us just to turn a mile up the road. yall ride 4wheelers, dirtbikes, and bicycles up and down the road with no lights, and you have no respect for the industry that built your neighborhood. COAL MINING. get your kids out of the road, keep your ATVS off road where they belong and quit pulling out infront of big trucks before there is another fatality.

what they need to do is pay by the hour , not by the ton that way the trucks would slow down, not all accidents are because by the trucker speeding, most of the accidents are cause by people getting in a hurry and pulling out in front of them.

Don't act innocent. Whenever you all come up decoys y'all take up both lanes, I got ran in the ditch by one but when I went to channel 19 and confronted him he didn't have the balls to pull over and settle it like a man.

oh im gonna agree yeah it happens. riding in a car or pickup is a little diffrent ride than those coal trucks with spring ride. it will beat you to death. so yep we take both lanes. MOST of us go slow enough to react when someone comes at us and theres plenty of time. yes we do have drivers that speed, but the majority of us dont. you cant weed out every bad driver. my point is this forum is full of people complaining about us (the driver) and holding the medfords up on a pedestal. well we are required to get a certian number of loads a day. we had to sign a paper saying that 4 loads was the reqired number per shift. the medfords are a bunch of greedy idiots. plain and simple. i work for them because at this moment i dont really have a choice. if we all worked together and the public realized how those trucks drove, stopped and turned we would all be better off. when i come out of the mine i let every veh that gets behind me around all the way to leawood. most of us try to be polite and turn our jakes off and watch out for your kids and dogs. watch for yall drunk on the weekends backing out of driveways in front of us. i really wish we could spend a week and just let yall ride back and forth with us so you could see the things that we see on a daily basis. its insane. crazy insane. im not saying we dont make mistakes, everyone does. but most of us try and do the right thing. all i ask is the same. why is it that you got cut off and wanted to settle it like a man, i asume u mean fight about it. what if you got beat would you have been happy with that outcome. why not get on the radio and say hey driver gettin a little close there, wake up something civil to let him know he made a mistake and needed to pay better attention. he would have most likley appoligized.

I have tried to be civil but the rude b@$terds just tell me to learn how to drive, I shouldn't have to get off the road into a ditch just so a coal truck driver can have it all to himself.

I drive for Medford on night shift running up cabin creek to Republic 6 nights a week, several times a night. while there are a few exceptions most of the drivers obey the speed limit. I always do, and get tailgated, and passed illegally all night long by rude 4 wheelers. some of you want to complain about Medford trucks speeding, but when we go the speed limit, we get tailgated, and some of the 4 wheelers act downright rude. 5 or 10 miles an hour over the speed limit is not really going to save you any time on short distances, and if your in that big of a hurry, you should have left earlier. and if a coal truck running the speed limit makes you that mad... get professional help, you have anger issues.

we ARE monitored not only by our truck bosses, but the mines have rovers out there watching us as well. they will give us time off w/o pay, or terminate us for speeding or driving unsafely. and when we do run the speed limit, we get tailgated, and passed illegally and unsafely by rude 4 wheelers. it goes both ways people. what about all the speeding 4 wheelers? or the drunks? or the idiots running out of their lanes, cutting off coal trucks, pulling out right in front of coal trucks, or backing out of their driveways right in front of coal trucks??? some of you people that live on the creek are some of the worst, rudest drivers I have ever seen in my life. bottom line... most coal truck drivers are good, safe drivers just trying to make a living. we weigh more than you, our trucks are bigger than you, and they take more room to stop, and turn so try to be respectful, give us the room we need, and stop acting like a bunch of knuckleheads around us if you want to live.

coal trucks are bigger, heavier, and take more room to stop and turn so sometimes you just might have to get out of the way. sorry for the inconvenience. maybe you DO need to learn how to drive, and perhaps a lesson in common sense would help as well...

Amazed I just had to comment on your post.
My husband drove for Medford for a short time.

What gets me is what you wrote. My husband says
that EVERY DAY. He does not drive up Cabin Creek
anymore but from Powellton to the docks.
He complains about the Exact same things everyday.
Ppl pulling out in front of him and expecting
him to be able to stop. Pulling out in front of him
only to stop a mile down the road.
Dogs in the road and worse kids in or on the edge of
the road.
Those trucks don't stop on a dime.

The funny part is he took me on a trip to Pineville
to pick up a load of coal last week. And damned if he
wasn't right. Ppl pulling out in front of him many times.
Some only to go a mile and pull off.
Ppl stopping dead in front of him suddenly to pick
up a hitchhiker. It was crazy.
I was cussing the whole way and he just said...Yeah,
that is what I deal with everyday.

Someone is going to get killed that way.
And believe it or not ppl a truck drivers worse
fear is hurting someone.
I know drivers who quit and couldn't drive anymore
because of an accident.

If everyone could understand, be courteous, and
work together we could try to keep anyone from
getting hurt or, god forbid, killed.

There are drivers from every company that
are not great workers.

I do get on the CB and tell these guys, some
from my husbands company and some from others,
that ...you're going to fast or you pushed me over
big truck, and they always apologize.
I've never had one be rude and if he were I'd tell
him off. lol
