Homemade slaw is too easy.. Take a head of cabbage and grate into a large bowl. 2 tablespoons salt and 1 tablespoon pepper (or to taste). 2 tablespoons sugar and 3 tablespoons Vinegar. Combine all with 1/2 cup mayonnaise. Taste for seasoning and mayonnaise and adjust if necessary. Refrigerate. If you like carrots in slaw then you can grate 1-3 carrots and add to mixture. Enjoy..

Instead of vinegar; try some mustard!

Adding Marzetties cole slaw dressing is best. You get the taste of the mayo, vinegar, mustard. I always add a lil sugar too. The sugar help keeps the cabbage nice and fresh looking. Course add salt and pepper to your taste.

I like chili made by boiling ground beef in enough water to cover with a diced up onion. When cooked drain water, add chili powder [and any other seasoning you want] a lil tomato paste and tomato juice til thick or thin as you prefer, let cook together about 10-15 mintues. Simple! When you boil the burger you dont get any "hard" fried pieces. Can freeze! when ready to use frozen put in crock pot and add a lil water!

Chilli 3lbs ground beef, 1 large onion, 3 cans tomato sauce, Tea spoon of garlic powder, 2 table spoons of chilli powder, lemon zest, sugar, ketchup.

Dice 1 large onion (I use red onion) into deep pot, start fire on medium to low. drop hamburger in on top of diced onions. using a large plastic spoon break up the hamburger into small chunks. When you hear the onions no longer sizzling, start turning the hamburger and onions into one another until thoroughly mixed. Once mixed, add garlic powder.(i usually don't measure, but rather go by sight of the amount I see on hte burger) Mix again thoroughly. Keep turning the hamburger until it is brown. Drain the grease, and return the burger to the deep pan. Add chill powder,(again no measuring here, I douse until the burger has a red tint) Add 3 cans of Tomato sauce, some lemn zest, a little sugar, and a big squirt of ketchup. simmer until warm, mix one last time, and serve.

Slaw is simple, Cabbage, Helmans Mayo, White vinegar, salt, sugar, pepper, and optional carrots or red onion. When using a red onion, use brown vinegar.

I knew this was the recipe I was looking for because you are from Summersville. I was born in Gilboa! Anyway, my mom and her sisters make the chili for the Hot Dog Sale at the Ruritan in Poe and it always tastes perfect. My mom has passed away, and I lost my recipe, so I was searching online before I called the to get their recipe.

I use 5lb of ground chuck & 1 lb of hamburger. Brown in pot with water and cook slow and keep chopping it up. The water will help it be fine . Drain I add 2 tablespoons of sugar, chill powder to taste and tomato juice. Cook slow for 3 hours. You can freeze some for later.
