No the woman just wants a clean election for all the canidates. She was there to keep an eye out for all of the illegal activities. Mr Pauley is campaigning out of town hall which is illegal, according the sec of state. What's wrong if people want to monitor the election. Pauley was told to either work there or get out of there he could not do both. And he is campaigning there. Coping his material and on the phone. Greeting voters. But all you people care about is slamming people who want a clean election. WOW
At she stood up to Pauley and demand a clean election. But he's still doing it as of today!
I think this is Bobby's GF. Every post from Washington is taking up for Bobby. I know how the location thing works on Topix. Either way his GF is just as dirty as the rest. What is she the "poll monitor" I wish I would've seen her taking pics of me when I voted because I would've gave her something to take a pic of!!! SHe's nothing but a mistress!!!!!!!!

Congrats bill, u can pull all of the trash in Marmet out to vote. He is a sleezy piece of work. The homely campaigners on the side of the road showed who his represents. A mayor should be someone seen out in the community finding what needs to be done and taking care of it. I am sick with the way he got his votes. Not the type of role model I want for my kids. Talk to the man for 2 minutes and u will figure out real quick.. He fits right in with the druggies and corrupt citizens.

Apparently 200 plus other people agree with me! Suck it up he's still Mayor and no amount of bitching is gonna change that!

Well from previous threads and comments I had the election pegged from the get go, like four years ago I was on target except for the Mayor's race.
I had Bobby Wells for Mayor. I come up 22 votes short on that. Bill was re elected with Ruth not being a factor.
Four years later the voice of the voters has spoken and its still proven nobody wants a Meadows elected to hold office in Marmet with Tammy Kersey defeating Jill Runion. Maybe Big Red will keep that jagged nose of hers home and focus on her two circus freak sideshow failed Children who are adults without a clue. I guess the same goes for the Mayor's race concerning a Meadows I originally figured it would be Bobby and Ruth with Bobby Wells having the edge by 20. Counting on Mayor Pauley not being a factor. I personally thought Ruth put a lil distance between herself and the nucleus of the Meadows clan giving her a shot boy was I surprised. I was especially taken back by Bill Pauley being re elected. Every four years for the past decade and a half the voice of the people around election time are buzzing about change. Comments such as Bill is to old, "done gone beyond his comprehension" "not the same Marmet" Thanks to The hire of Johnny Walker that council pushed for and Pauley originally tried to veto after he approved the hire. You'll see the cleanliness issue thats been a hot issue for years in town take care of itself. If we wouldn't have had another three way rat race with Ruth staying home and escorting prisoners on occasion Bobby would've pulled A significant amount of Ruth's votes resulting in a Wells win. I do apologize for the sarcasm I'm just beside myself here wishing Mayor Pauley was getting ready for his last council meeting. Honestly I wouldn't have cared if Ruth was Mayor or even as critical as I was over Johnny Dickens and a few other candidates seeking election for council I would've taken them over Pauley this election season just to vote him out of office.(Maybe that's a little to sarcastic but it's a disappointment for many)
The people elected Terry Russell, Travis Walker, Snookie Tardy,Debbie Skeens, and Jerry McGhee Jr. Shockingly edging Ronnie Wilson, respectively. I figured Ronnie would be a bottom dweller of this contest of all candidates and McGhee would be third or maybe 4th but finishing 5th I'd never imagined that. I was surprised Terry Russell nailed over 300 votes I originally had Terry coming in 5th for the final spot or barely on the outside looking in at Hoop Humphries holding the 5th and final position. Congratulations to Terry Russell he will be a great addition to town government. I originally had Walker 1st, Tardy 2nd, Debbie/Jerry Jr. 3/4 or vise versa. Congratulations to all. I was correct in analysis, not with finishing order which doesn't matter they were elected and that's what we needed and matters most. Hate it for Hoop Humphries, I hope he continues to be a candidate for years to come he's got great character and will be an asset to Marmet. I never imagined Wynter Fontalbert Winnell finishing last. I originally had her pegged around 8 out of 11 although in previous commentary I stated Mes. Winnell wasnt electable due to other running it had nothing to do with her character or capabilities. the woman is better than finishing last shes a cut above in my book. Nor could I believe Johnny Dickens pulled over 100 votes that guy is a complete horses ass along with Jake Halstead who's already blew his wad, nothing but a drunken deadbeat who should've stayed home bitching and moaning about something from Mommy's couch. Of course Hardman who? We knew that was a no go from the start.

General election this year in Marmet was bazaar. Everybody on the Wells ticket or Neutral for Meadows from Recorder to Council was elected. The Pauley ticket was a bust with the exception of Terry Russell who never really committed to any candidate running for Mayor. More than likely Terry was on everybody's ticket. Mayor Pauley being re elected was a shock to many and not a surprise to others. Goes to show you many people in this town are snowballed, ignorant, pity the man, or just done care and happy with minimal progress by the Pauley Administration and Billy's vision for Marmet. The bright side is for all those in the dark we have a great council coming in and Jill Runion is still not recorder. Marmet is improving, gaining ground daily. I honestly do not believe we are a town united just yet due to Mayor Pauley's re election bid. Eventually we'll get a two horse race resulting in new leadership at the Mayor's position. This completes my aggravated, sarcastic, slanderous coverge for this years general election. I usually try to keep it down the middle. Couldn't help myself today. I've enjoyed commenting with each of you along with sharing thoughts and opinions of the direction of our little slice of paradise and the people we elect to make it shine. We'll talk again in four years!

Well they got who they voted for, Hopefully the council can over rule the Mayor since the towns be falling apart for so long. still have a couple old names on council, that are jokes and I agree don't mix a preacher with politics "really". Good luck to some of the new faces you will need it and hope to see improvements. Those who lost Try again just remember those who say they voted for your didn't they just wanted your help. They know who they are and they will answer. Its those who are back in office again. Has anyone seen a vehicle pulled over in Marmet? Can the Chief write a ticket? Drugs all over the town and in homes of the families of our officials. That's why they don't want change.

Good Luck Marmet

Ruth staying home or occasionally escorting prisoners around? Really? That's how you categorize her contributions to Marmet? Hands down, that woman has done more work for this town than all sitting council members combined. A fact that has been stated by at least 3 of them that I know of, including Bob Wells. While everyone else was campaigning on Saturday, she was volunteering at the car show, as she has every year they've had it, plus labor day, Christmas party for the kids, dances, landscaping around the city buildings, on and on. So she uses vacation time to supervise a free work crew to do work that COUNCIL wants done, but none are willing to give up their time to help with, despite her asking others to share the duty. I get your frustration, I do. But please understand making such sh*tty comments about a citizen volunteering is exactly why people don't step up to volunteer or give up trying to do anything in this town. THAT'S as much why this town is declining as Pauley being mayor!

While I'm at it Analyst, weren't you the one calling people out for talking about Bob Wells' personal life? I happen to agree with you, a lot of crap has been said on here that was no one's business or had any relevance. Bob has served this city for 20 years, so he deserves some respect for that. Not many of us would be willing to do that. Although I do not care for Jill personally, calling her kids freak shows is out of line. Kids and families should be off limits...not just for the candidate you support, but all of them. THAT'S exactly no one wants to run for anything in this town because no one is perfect and no ones family is perfect. So, if you have a limited selection of candidates to choose from that can defeat Pauley, blame yourself and all the other idiots on here!

Sure, I could say Dickens is a hot head who runs his mouth too much, but I could say the same about Wynter. Or I could say I don't always agree with how Dickens handles things, but he does give his time to coach the kids in town when others won't and i.appreciate that. I could also say Wynter has worked hard to build that gym into something that is very important to the self esteem a lot of young girls in the area. We need more of that for our kids who are growing up in scary times. In other words, WE could build this town up, no matter who's mayor. We could, but not as long as we tear each other and our town down!

Even if the people elected aren't who you would have chosen or not, you should understand that only Jesus himself could attract new businesses when you people are announcing to the WORLD that Marmet is nothing but white trash drug dealers with zero police protection! That's probably not the market area any business is looking to invest in! That, and trashing businesses that are in town, like the daycare. The fact is, Marmet is full of employed, responsible people who would happily spend money at home. But you'd never know by looking on here or anywhere. Nothing but negativity and complaining. At least Bill Pauley does have the sense to keep our problems in house! Stop worrying about candidates, take a look at your own actions. If the citizens wanted things to be better bad enough, it wouldn't matter who was in office.

I stated in the second section of my comment that a lot of what I said was sarcastic, slanderous, as a result of aggravation. I did fail to mention that I was sorry for some of the slander in advance or better yet shouldn't have even posted them. I know Ruth Meadows volunteers a lot of her time to the community only thing that kinda pisses me off is she didn't even come close many in the beginning said she wouldn't and didn't understand why she threw her name in the hat. My personal feelings are like I stated earlier if it would have been between Wells and Pauley Pauley would be preparing for his last council meeting. I do not think Ruth was enfulenced by Pauley to file for candidacy as I've previously stated. I do believe she would rather see Pauley remain Mayor rather than Wells. To me that's 100+ votes we lost to unseat Pauley that's blood boiling a little. I've also previously stated in other post I like Wynter. I like what she does, grew up here, raises a family here, active with children, while running a successful business orientated around the kids. Not a negative thing to say about her. I did say in a previous post due to others in the field who filed for election to serve on council that she was not electable at this time due to that reason. I never had a negative statement about her character. Johnny Dickens on the other hand I can go on and on about how the guy is your typical sleaze ball car salesman Blow George of self gratification.

Ruth had a late charge of momentum momentarily and I thought she may have had a slight shot of winning. Once again people say one thing then do another. If the people who said they supported her actually did then Pauley would be finished today. I shouldn't have jumped on the whole Jill thing concerning family, truth does hurt said or not. I personally can't stand to see her walk in my presence. She's a Bill Pauley suck all the way no pun intended.

In short, had some of Wells' supporters not begged her to run and then turned and lobbied hard day in and day out against her, smearing her, etc, Bill would be done. Either she wouldn't have ran or she would have won solidly. Wells would've had nothing without them, but they weren't enough to overcome his strategic mistakes. Not bashing him, he's only human. But just the fact she pulled the votes she did in spite of their daily campaign against her proves she was ultimately the stronger candidate. Not saying she couldn't have done some things better, but no candidate could survive that machine. They just shouldn't have begged her to run against Wells to begin with. She wasn't even considering it, but as always, stepped up when her community asked. Their game cost the town, not only this mayoral race, but probably the best civil servant the town has. Not to mention a loyal ally and friend.
As sh*tty as that is, I honestly don't think their intentions were bad. I don't think they're bad people at all. I'm more disappointed than anything. But as I said, hindsight is 20/20.
