Im new to the area and looking for a church to attend. I had a friend to point out The Family Worship Center in Chesapeake, but I have heard some bad things that may be going on, I have been to a couple of services and seem to like the church, but I still concerened over what I have heard. Just to mention a few, Divorce, Drugs, and affairs. I left all that stuff behind at my other church and dont want back in the middle. Comments?

Yeah I heard about the pastors brother, and he has been to the church several times with his boyfriends, the other brother is the town drunk, and sells all his pills. As far as the pastor, he seems ok and puts a lot of work into the new building, the congregation on the other hand is what would concern me, now there is a bunch of forward lookin "Christians" and they will screw you if given the chance and seems HOLY only in church, if ya know what I mean.

Instead of listening to a bunch of gossip and half assed bullshit on topix why not try attending a few services, talk to the Pastor (Terry is a good man) and see for yourself. I know other people that go to that church and they are good people. If you have an issue that concerns you after that then talk to Terry in person, then make your decision on whether you want to worship there or not, don't let others make it for you based on gossip and hearsay.

It's a good church, Terry Russell is a good man and a great pastor and there are plenty of good people that attend there. It's really worth your time to check them out. They make you feel welcome and they do a lot of good work for the community like the food bank every other Saturday.

What does his brothers have to do with him? He is a good man. He can't control what his brothers do! He can only hope that they change their ways. People are so quick to judge others. Maybe you need to clean up your own before talking about others. Geez!

I think some of you people better pick up your Bibles and read the parts about not judging others and loving your neighbors as you love yourself. People like outlaw man and Jebus are the kind of hypocrites that give Christians a bad name.

Terry is a good man and a great pastor. As for his brothers, they're both good guys also, everyone has their faults but before you go pointing out others shortcomings maybe you better take a long hard look in a mirror.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

I have been a member of Family Worship Center for many years. It is a great place to worship. Pastor Terry Russell is a true man of God and his wife is also very annointed as well as a true example of love and kindness. There is not a church around that doesn't have a problem here or there but it is how the problem is handled that counts. as far as the Pastor's brothers are concerned, they need prayer as much as anyone else and I know the Pastor's heart is to see them come to the Lord before it is too late. I would not want to go anywhere else. The love and acceptance that is shown there is amazing. Please come and try us and then you will have an informed decision instead of hurtful gossip. God Bless!

That's a wonderful thought, but that is not Pastor Russell's calling. He can do more for the people under the powerful anointing of The Lord than to be pulled away into a worldly political environment.

Patience, Jebus. The Lord is clearly dealing with the congregation, and changes have been happening. Some The Lord have released into the world and they won't be coming back to the church, others The Lord has called home prematurely, and still others The Lord has been strongly convicting of their sins, hypocrisy, and compliancy. That's the miracle power of prayer!

As long as the Shepard of a church remains pure and true and compliant to God's Word, the Holy Spirit WILL BE PRESENT and continue to deal with the Church body.

My apology for the above incorrectly stated word. I should have typed, "complacency" instead of "compliancy."

I went to family worship center for many years. I basically grew up in that church. I go to my boyfriends church now but i like to visit fwc from time to time.I will tell you this, Terry russell is a great man of God & a good pastor. I'm sorry but I do not care about what his brothers do. I go for the word. The people who go to that church are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The spirit moves when you are there too. God is in that place. So I would definitely recommend fwc

CFWC has been experiencing a greater spiritual increase and presence during its true congregational praise and worship, as The Lord clearly manifests his presence during the same.

The Praise Team is also demonstrating new harmonical strength and accuracy in their voices as The Holy Spirit continues to mature these worshippers in preparation for its transformation into a Choir.

Another wonderful, Holy Spirit-filled service. God is clearly moving mightily here and people are finally being set free to continually worship The Lord by His Spirit. The congregation is being changed and awakened. Miraculous physical healings are taking place during the service!
